they have increased the pop cap for the exisiting servers.
instead of refusing to add more servers because the pop will drop, maybe it is because they have enough common sense to realize that since its a new game, everyone is logging in and playing it at approximately the same time. As the weeks go by, people will fall into more RANDOM play patterns. Also they want balanced servers with the 2 warring PC factions. use your brain if you have one, kid.

Anyways, It's not surprising that a hyped big AAA mmo has sold out the first week it came out. Good for Aion. Good to see someone doing well. Let's wait and see how many subs it has in 1-3 months, and if Aion sales could stay at or near the top like another games 3 versions has for years.
Lots of WoW hate in this thread, AION seems to be doing very well yet the need to bash WoW and its players remain? Seems many are still unsure of AIONs long term viability and are very much still on the defensive.
NCSoft also want to wait a month before adding more servers to make sure the retention rate is good enough. And that's the thing, we need to wait at least a month before making any claims and to be sure a good 3 months to ensure retention is high and sales remain high.

awhmahgawd, someone needs to make an animation about this. I saw the old ones, and they were totally fucking hilarious. I'd do it myself, but I'm a huge noob.
I understand its new and I am all giddy, but this game is really an enjoyable experience so far. Solo feels like I am progressing at a decent pace. Grouping is really fun because it seems as though you progress a lot faster and class reliant to an extent that solo feels fine but team work is very appreciated and gratifying.
The game feels like a hybrid of Lineage2 and Wow merged but with guild wars quest lines with cut scenes on a lot on quests. There game also makes one feel that there is really a war brewing and the pvp seems as though its going to be meaningful. I also like the fact that there is debt but you can buy it back. One more point it really seems like when you fight another player that its a real fight kinda hard to say but the mix of twitch and chain skills feels like a real fight some how. Anyway I am digging the game.
There are some slight negitves like server cues that usually last 10 min even the timer says 25min or so. Still some lag spikes here and there mixed with some rubberbanding but its not enough to ruin game play because it doesn't really happen to often.
P.S. Grouping means something again, but solo works too-

It's a new release. This always happens with new releases that are over advertised and shallow in nature. Halo ODST. Age of Conan. It'll die off in the West sooner than later. Asian market will like it for a while though.
I don't know why everyone picks a side on releases and joins the forum WAAARRRGHHHH!!, but in my mind, its all premature (both the "in your face, haters" and the "this game chews, fan bois r lame") until the free month is over. I buy games I have no real interest in and roll the free month on a just in case basis. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
If you have a burning need to pronounce victory over the forum-hater menace, I just think its best to wait until the free month is over, or buy some steak spices so that your own words don't taste so harsh if you have to eat them in 3 weeks.

Anyways, It's not surprising that a hyped big AAA mmo has sold out the first week it came out. Good for Aion. Good to see someone doing well. Let's wait and see how many subs it has in 1-3 months, and if Aion sales could stay at or near the top like another games 3 versions has for years.
Lots of WoW hate in this thread, AION seems to be doing very well yet the need to bash WoW and its players remain? Seems many are still unsure of AIONs long term viability and are very much still on the defensive.
NCSoft also want to wait a month before adding more servers to make sure the retention rate is good enough. And that's the thing, we need to wait at least a month before making any claims and to be sure a good 3 months to ensure retention is high and sales remain high.

Aion will be big...that is all....
I understand its new and I am all giddy, but this game is really an enjoyable experience so far. Solo feels like I am progressing at a decent pace. Grouping is really fun because it seems as though you progress a lot faster and class reliant to an extent that solo feels fine but team work is very appreciated and gratifying.
The game feels like a hybrid of Lineage2 and Wow merged but with guild wars quest lines with cut scenes on a lot on quests. There game also makes one feel that there is really a war brewing and the pvp seems as though its going to be meaningful. I also like the fact that there is debt but you can buy it back. One more point it really seems like when you fight another player that its a real fight kinda hard to say but the mix of twitch and chain skills feels like a real fight some how. Anyway I am digging the game.
There are some slight negitves like server cues that usually last 10 min even the timer says 25min or so. Still some lag spikes here and there mixed with some rubberbanding but its not enough to ruin game play because it doesn't really happen to often.
P.S. Grouping means something again, but solo works too-

It's a new release. This always happens with new releases that are over advertised and shallow in nature. Halo ODST. Age of Conan. It'll die off in the West sooner than later. Asian market will like it for a while though.

I don't know why everyone picks a side on releases and joins the forum WAAARRRGHHHH!!, but in my mind, its all premature (both the "in your face, haters" and the "this game chews, fan bois r lame") until the free month is over. I buy games I have no real interest in and roll the free month on a just in case basis. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
If you have a burning need to pronounce victory over the forum-hater menace, I just think its best to wait until the free month is over, or buy some steak spices so that your own words don't taste so harsh if you have to eat them in 3 weeks.
I personally think Aion will remain highly populated, i do hope however that the majority of WoW douchebags will leave.
