    Winter is coming to Michigan.

To entertain myself here for the entire winter, it would involve going to a lot of movies, skiing, snow tubing, snowmobiling and much more.

Now, I will still do some of that, but most of the time, I want handy, cheap entertainment. It sounds to me like $15 a month is right in my budget.

If I like the game well enough to play a second month, then I know it will be worth it for me.

Michigan in the winter is reallllllllly boring most of the time!

Yes, I must say you, in Michigan, have much worse winters than we do in Eastern Washington State. I'd definitely hole up next to a warm fireplace and a good game of EQ2 than do anything outside!

Definitely! <chuckles> Sometimes you can't even leave the house. Good thing the cable still runs! I'd go nutso without the computer and a good game. Oh yes, don't let me forget the fire! image

Yeah..and everything should cost the same it did 100 years ago..yeah..yeah *cough*.

Next thing your gonna say is you want the 5 cent Burgers back from the 50's and 60's.

im happy as all get out, i thiught for sure they would try to rip us for like 19.99 a month. atleast this is within a monthly fee i can live with. since EQ2 has anounced this price it sort of set the price for other games coming out also. SOE has finally done something i can thank them for, and from me to thank SOE is saying a lot.

    Too bad ... 15$ ::::21::

    Let's put this in perspective.

Someone is reading "$15.00 per month" and going, "OMG $15 NO WAY UR RAPING ME"

Alright, so maybe the number 15 is really big. Let's break it down: 30 days, $15 -- $0.50 per day. FIFTY CENTS PER DAY.

How much money do you spend on food daily? How about entertainment? Gas? Laundry (maybe)? Big Bills? $0.50 per day... two small packs of Juicy Fruit gum is $.50 per day. Go to a movie theater into an arcade machine -- one play is $.50 if you're lucky!

How many here buy 1 game per month, for PC or console? How about 1 every two months? $50 a game folks -- Buy one every two months for a year, and you've spent $300. Buy this game, pay for it for a 11 months, plus the retail price of $50 for the game and first month, and you've only spent $215. Due to the addictive nature of MMOGs, people tend not to blow cash on many titles once they have one. Ask an EQ junkie how many other games they buy -- probably not nearly as many.

Really, I don't see the big deal.

These type of post make me laugh.  I see them in every game and pity the poster and what meager logic is used to condemn a high price.  As gamers we spend  over $500 every 2 years or so upgrading graphics cards, memory, cpu's, mbs to play games.  Game machines require alot more power then running Excel. So people dont mind paying over $20 a month average on computer upgrades so we can play games, but will  imagewhineimage about spending 15 a month on a game.  There is also the cost of electricity that is ignored.  There is also the cost of the isp.  So the reason we buy these computers is to play games that cost around 1/5 the monthly upkeep.

The entertainment per hour cost that players recieve from games is very cheap.  If you really cant afford $15 a month dont upgrade your computer to a game machine and concentrate on getting your finances in order...you have more severe problems than a $15 a month bill.

With an arguable 3% inflation rate we should be seeing a cost increase in games soon.  If games cost are proportional to the inflation then they should be increasing almost $.50 a year.

Yes, I too was fearing the $19.99 monthly fee.  I think think $15/mo is very good price.  I used to pay $10 a month for Ultima Online. I quit before they raised UO to $13/mo, and I feel sorry for people who still play UO because they are getting the same awful cartoon graphics for only a dollar less than we'll be paying for EQ2's really good graphics.  image

I am going for the all access pass though because i plan to keep planetside and it works out cheaper that way.

I don't know if you've heard something I haven't but i really really doubt EQ2 is gonna be included in the all access pass, much like SWG wasn't

Who wants a job that pays 50 cents a day? Jeez...image

And think about this: You can sponser a child in a 3rd world country for only 35 cents a day! You could turn someone life around!

Now is EQ2 worth someone's life? HUH?

SOE is killing children in 3rd world countries! Why is this not an outrage on every major news network?

    ahem.... *wanders off*image

i just recently bought star wars: battlefront and bloodrayne 2. beat both of them within 3 days. 50$ per game, thats 100$. somehow 15$ per month doesnt seem like very much at all...and it would probably save me from buying most of those 1 player type games. so, if you look at it like that, then well you would actually be saving money.

imageHmm, don't you just love this topic, It's always the same...

You can't debate this with some poeple, they will never listen to the examples given from those that say "$15 is cheap entertainment"...It just goes on and on and on.

Just pay and play or don't, as simple as that !!

yes it will be included on the access pass. On the Character Creation Disk it states that EQ2 will be part of the access pass

SWG wasn't included because they weren't allowed to as the game is also operated by LucasArts. In order for it to be included in the stationpass it has to be fully owned by SOE.

$15 bucks is fine with me as well. It's the same as going to a late movie with my wife (add drink and popcorn and your  well over $20) and that's 1 night of entertainment. This lasts a month!

     I don't understand the complaint.

btw - just made Warrior class last night! I really am enjoying this game. Started a Monk last night as well cause I saw the staff moves on another player and thought it looked COOL image

LOLOLOL  to funny, $15 is suddenly a rediculous amount of money?!?!?!  Maybe you should quit playing games, concentrate on school, get a real job, move out of that trailer park you call home, then worry about spending rediculous amounts of money for entertainment purposes.

15$ for bein able to play theoretically 24 hours per day for a whole month? i dont think thats much, its reasonable ^_^ i mean if i stay in a weekend gamin instead of goin out partyin/drinkin, damn i save like 100$ or smth lol so 15$ doesnt sound much for me in that sense =)

15$ is the limit though, i mean more and the game would have to b some kinda new great thing for me to pay ^^
