Nope, I'm usually really nice online but in reality I enjoy taking candy from babies, laughing when old ladies fall down, and making those weaker than i cry.

Inherited Will, the Destiny of the Age, and the Dreams of its People. These are things that will not be stopped. As long as people continue to pursue the meaning of freedom, these things will never cease to be! - Gol D. Roger
Concept number 1: we all, regardless of who we are, act differently based on our surroundings. Talking to a cashier at the local 7-11 you will use different vocabulary and tone than talking to the visiting president/prime minister/aristocracy of another country. The way we talk differs immensely from the way we type or read. Change the medium, change the interaction.
The question here is, to what degree?
Me personally, I go the character (rather than self-projection) route mostly. I don't extensively RP but for laughs, and my interactions are genuine, but I don't hesitate to pk in pvp- of which no parallel could be drawn up for me IRL. Typically I'm concerned about getting a job done while accomodating the people involved.
That is exactly right, and we're not saying NO to save WoW, because it is already a lost cause. We are saying NO to dissuade the next group of greedy suits who decide to emulate Blizzard and Cryptic, etc. We can prevent some of the future games from spewing this crap, but the sooner we start saying no, the better the results will be. So - Stand up, pull up your pants, and walk away. - MMO_Doubter

Uh, I guess it does. When I get angry in-game, I get angry IRL. When I'm happy in-game, I'm happy IRL.
And when I'm totally pissed off in-game, I start crying IRL.
