Seeing things from the newbie point of view

Last night my brother and I rolled new characters on the Cannith server. After 3.5 years it was almost like a new game entirely. All of a sudden I am scrounging and selling everything where on Thelanis I can safely ignore most trash loot. I am hunting and hoping to find a decent weapon instead of twinking my lowbies like they were royalty. Made a favored soul as my first character and all of the sudden I see how the other half lives. To be honest its a lot of fun for me to play this way now.

 

I truly think all new players should hit the Cannith server so you can experience the game like it was new on a server were the economy is not yet screwed up and the powerbase has not really been established.

Permadeath and Iron Man guilds have been running like this for 3 years but some people don't trust themselves with a mailbox in every zone and a stable of level capped characters :P.  It really does add a lot of fun to the game.

It has nothing to do with trusting myself. Permadeath and Ironman guilds are restrictive play. I am talking about a totally new economy and server. I see no reason not to use the AH if I have the money to afford an item. While I understand the Permadeath players love for that style of gameplay it holds no interest for me and never has. Cannith adds something new to the game that Permadeath and Ironman do not, and that is the ability to play with anyone and know that at this stage none of us are twinked or overpowered for the quests.
