The game fails more and more quit everyday, no reason to have that long of a queue ever!!
nope, only the few who have never been in an mmorpg launch before
vanguard no queues, ddo, anarchy online, eq2, Lotro, all the same.
original eq had them and wow did, never tried aoc or war at launch cuz I had no interest in them.
not all games have queues at launch and since they knew exactly how many pre-orders they had, this is negelct on their part.
Grouping in Old school mmo's: meeting someone at the bar and chatting, getting to know them before jumping into bed. Current mmo's grouping: tinder. swipe, hookup, hope you don't get herpes, never see them again.
Rly hope they fix queue , just now Spatalos was totally full , ( Can't log in server is full) not even queue , i mean cmon did they expect less ppl or what
Thats why I wait a few months before activating my pre ordered aion.. well always wait like 3months with all new games after my misstake with activating wow on its release day.. was like 1h queue the first month and some annoying small bugs...
Their not gonna sacrifice server perfomance for the sake of filling their servers, they are looking into ways to cut the queue's down and thats good. Lately the lag is starting to show itself because of all the afk shops and people running around Sanctum.

Exactly. While I haven't had any issues in Aion so far, you have to keep in mind that any popular game is going to have server issues at the start. I remember WoW 1 hour + queue times after launch and lag like you wouldn't believe. It will be solved with time.
Bottom line is that people bought the game they expect to play. The sad this is that they was touting how many pre-orders they had so they knew it was going to be packed day 1 and yet they did nothing to help the situation. This is because they feel they will not get as many NA/EU customers as they do over in Asia so they think it will calm down after the first month or so. They may be right because if people get annoyed enough they will go elsewhere unless they are that desperate for their mmo fix.

Account ******* successfully cancelled. This account will no longer auto-renew, and you will not be able to log in after your current subscription expires. Enough is enough...they want my money I want to play when and where I like. Big FU to ncsoft by the way never ever will deal with them mofos again, on the other side you aion fanbois will be happy to get 3999 waiting line instead of 4000 lol.
You and everyone else like you are idiots if you would have researched the game a little bit then you would have known that today they are fixing the private shop afkers by adding a 30 min time limit so those people taking up space, and adding to the login times will decrease. Second if your having such long waits to login in try the elyos side they are not as populated as the asmo side which in turn lets you right into the game without a wait AT ALL. You and all others complaining about wait times should have known that once they (NCsoft) said they're gonna keep a balance of population on the serers to keep it fair in the abyss should have expected this sorta thing. Plus the fact that it is within the first week of release you should also know that wait times might happen while players rush to see the new toy on the market. So for you and all the little whiners who blame NCsoft for there own stupid decision not a) try another server b) wait till the game calms down a little c) just try the elyos side, it's your own fault.
I agree with the OP. If I'd pay a good chunk for a game, then I'd want to be able to play it as well, and not wait for hours. What do I care for the reasons why I can't play it? It's not my job to gather information about what's going on or not. My job was to pay the money, which I did. And then I expect to be able to get something for that. The excuses people make up are just words, changing nothing that I paid and can't use it. Also I agree with the guy said they probably do it on purpose for a while, to fuel the hype. I mean the company knew what was coming. They had the experience to see it and to deal with it. But they didn't deal with it.
I wouldn't quit the game that quickly though, trying every now and then to see if something changed.

The above is so true it is funny. I have Asmo characters on Az that I can never get to, but I can log into my Elyos toons without issue. There is no need to ragequit.

If you think these queues could've been prevented, you're dreaming.
There's no way to adequately prepare for the mass of people coming in at launch. No way. Blizzard's WoW queues were horrendous when it first launched and it took some time to clear up. The connection and lag issues when an MMO launches are usually so severe that it's just not time- or cost-effective to do what might be necessary to eliminate it. Especially because once the mass of players spread out, the problem mostly dissipates.
It's almost like when a new iPhone or something goes on sale and it sells out -- and people scream at Apple like, "WHY CAN'T YOU KEEP THEM IN STOCK?! YOU KNEW THE DEMAND WAS HIGH!" Uh, yeah, sure, but to say they should've just put out 5x the product to prevent shortages is short-sighted thinking.
Bottom line, if you're an MMO Early Adopter, these are the growing pains you willingly took upon yourself.
Thats why I wait a few months before activating my pre ordered aion.. well always wait like 3months with all new games after my misstake with activating wow on its release day.. was like 1h queue the first month and some annoying small bugs...

I can remember WoW queues of over an hour when we were in BWL. That was quite a while after release. This game has been out how long and people are complaining about queues?
Waiting in queues sucks. MMORPG's in general are probably always going to have a problem with queues if they are successful. It's that old between a rock and a hard place thing. Too many servers, too many of one faction, too many of a certain class will make a pvp game fail. If you try and do something proactive about the problem people are going to justifiably complain about queues or lock outs.
I'm glad to see they are limiting private stores and adding servers. It's only been a few days since launch and it looks like NcSoft is listening to their customers and changing things as quickly as possible. It will never be quick enough for some people. Hell, it's not quick enough for ME when I'm stuck in a queue!
I am encouraged that NcSoft is listening. That's a very good start.
Hey, I've got this novel idea: Roll on a server without a queue!
That's right: When WoW launched I had NEVER waited in a queue, because I made my toons on low population servers.
I really don't understand how people can only play games with their friends; it's not like you can't roll a toon on another server and have fun with people you don't know.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

I think you have to have friends to know why people like to play with them. For me, it's about keeping the friends I have. I spend a lot of time in game, so if I'm not playing with my RL friends I tend to lose touch with them.
When you lose touch with friends, the friendship suffers. I kind of like to have my RL friends, I like to keep in touch with them and I like to play games with them. If I did not want to play with my friends, then by definition they are not my friends.

Most of my friends don't even like MMO's, so that leaves me to play with people I don't know most of the time. The time I spend with my friends involves going out more often than not instead of sitting in front of a computer and killing pixel dragons.
If you live online, then I could see how having your friends play as well is necessary.
For me it's a good thing that my friends don't play, since I'm somewhat compulsive and could see myself sitting and staring at a screen all day.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
Hold on a second. Are some people here actually DEFENDING a 4 hour queue to play a video game? Take a step back and think about what you're saying, then maybe you can empathize with those that don't have the time/patience to put up with it.
I was considering giving this game a go, but if the queues are like that...I think I'll wait.
Joined 2004 - I can't believe I've been a MMORPG.com member for 20 years! Get off my lawn!
why didn't you just roll on a different server? there are 2 low pop servers that almost never have any que at all at any time of the day. me and my guild logged in at 3 sunday and the server we orginially picked was just slammed, and one guildie that made his character elyos before he found out we went asmo and no one could make anymore asmo on that server. we got in with no que but you couldn't do any quests there was so many people. so i logged out and saw the one server said low so we all went there and rerolled, we're asmo and no one in my guild has ever had a que. and yesterday there was a big raid on Altguard by elyos probably atleast 40 elyos all in the same 2 guilds looked like a joint effort was ALOT of fun.
honestly i think the shops caused 90% of the ques, and they fixed that today by logging out the shops after 30 min.

FYI they did a patch today to give all the shops a 30min timer to help with the que. So at least NC has its eyes open.
Played Aoc/DDO/FFXI/WAR / LoTRo / CO / Aion
Playing Rift
Waiting for FFXIV to be the game it should. so sad =(

ncwest block some server if its too many player or they block some race if its too unbalanced
its automatic,a bit annoying but a very cool feature

So you payed money to play. But everytime you try there is a hour long queue.
Basically you are denied service you payed for.
Good job NC soft !
So the two day "head start" and extra "free week" didnt work so good? Well at least the preorders got to name their toons early.

on some server only
lol most you can logon but other
its not aion fault
say you went to x site and that site suggest a server but that server is full player dont have
vent etc so they re still waiting to login there even tho theres always other server with room
but those are stubborn they go in x server or they wait in line they wont go to A server
yes silly but its their fault its not ncsoft
there are other server open lol
