I like it for what it is - the MMOG equivalent of a summer superhero blockbuster movie. A lot of fun while you play it, but rather forgetable.

Also, I think it helps if you play this game rather casually. I just hit my 20s and have found that I'm not burned out yet. Then again, I can't play this game for more than 2 hours straight or it starts to get super repetitive.

    Not very good...

Aion on the other hand is looking like a rocket and actually looks like it is causing a lost in Wow players!  That's a pretty amazing accomplishment.

According to Xfire, it's sliding down rapidly, exactly what happened to Tabula Rasa over a year ago.

Ah well since you mentioned Aion, look up WAR & AoC, all 3 of those has peaked at #4 when they first launched so it's too early to say Aion is hurting WoW (which doesn't look like it is yet).

True, give Aion a couple of months. If it stays around 4-5 or even goes up then it is quite evident that the game is not all fluff which WAR and AoC turned out to be.

CO on the other side peaked at 25 and is now dropping to below 50. Not good for a game released a month ago. Not good at all...

As for WoW, it seems to have kept steady around 300k hours, before and after Aion release. Maybe it has lost a couple of percent, not more than that can be seen in XFire stats.

The comparison is propastrous. CO may lack content and end-game right now, but it is no disaster as Tabula Rasa was.

All Cryptic needs to do is to create more group content, more PvP content and add a proper end game. Then the game will hover around the same level of subscribers as WAR which has around 300k subscribers.

But if they dont do anything, or dont do enough, the game will probably die.

I'm not sure how much it cost Cryptic to make CO, but I'm guessing it was far below what Mythic and Funcom poured into their MMOs. And Champions is at least beating both AOC and WAR on XFire, which IMHO is great for a niche game without a killer IP.

both AoC and War have been out for a long time and have stable populations.  CO is new and still riding high from the free month and newness hype.  Although CO is falling fast and when it does level off it will almost certainly be far lower then it is now.

And also like the other posters said it is really early to tell what will happen with Aion, it also had a lot of hype and will likely drop a lot before it is stable but currently it is still growning so it will be fun to watch and see how high it actually gets.  Keep in mind that both AoC and War hammer also saw big upswings on release like Aion before settling where they are.  Not to imply where CO will end up but based on peaks I both AoC and War were hugely more popular then CO reaching numbers like 10x the CO peaks.
