My System - How will it hold up?

ChaoticaChaotica Member UncommonPosts: 93

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with an Intel Pentium 4 at 2 Ghz.

I have 768MB RAM and a Radeon 9600 AGP Video Card with 128MB Memory.

Will the game run pretty good for me or should I start saving for some upgrades?

Thanks to any who respond to this!

It should run fine.  Obviously not on extreme quality setting, but you should already know that.  image

    hehe... yes...

I should try to get more RAM and a better Video Card.

I won't be able to right now.. BUT... if EQII can hold my attention for 6 months to a year.. then I'll definitely upgrade. Fortunately or unfortunately, I think it will. lol

    Thanks again!

So, now I'm thinking 1 Gig of Ram and a 6800 GT. <calculates that in her head>

I think I need an extra job. lol image

You'll run great on medium settings.  My system is about 1 1/2 step above yours, and I run fine in high mode.  I couldn't imagine trying for super high mode though!

Ok, as the release date is nearing, i need to know if my computer will run now :)

I am running a P4 2.4 Ghz 1 gig of ram and a geforce fx 5600, do i "need" to upgrade my card?

I'm actually think about either a 6600GT or 6800 (non-gt)  Both are about the same price and the 6800 can easily be OC'ed to the GT speeds image

Also the 6800's are AGP at the moment...while we're still waiting for the 6600's to come out in the AGP format. image

But...it's not like I actually "need" a new card yet...but I WANT one lol image

My Ati 9800 NP 128mb is still kicking...But I have the feeling it's going to become a hand-me-down to one of my son's machines LOL But hey it beats the heck out of what he's running now! GeFoece2 GTS ...all he plays atm is SoF2, so it's been "ok"

You should be fine with that setup. What people need to realize is there is a "big" difference between what will RUN and what looks GREAT. The better the card ='s the more detail in the world and better over all graphic quality.

I would wait...play the game and see how it looks and runs in the settings you prefer...if you don't like it (not enough detail or slow) ....THEN look into upgrading to the next highest card you can afford.

    That's what I'd do image
