Like some of the other people here, wanted to know a few things before I bother trying to come back.
1. Has there been upgrades to stability? I had an ever increasing problem with crashes back when I played last year. Got so bad I was crashing every 10 minutes, which sucks extremely bad in RvR. People start to think you're a jerk who logs so he won't lose.
2. Any new content in the lower tiers? I really do not want to have to go through all the same stuff again.
3. Is the End Game still based totally around RvR ranks and rewards, with very little community interest in Raids/Dungeons?
4. Did they ever get around to adding the other race cities? I would really probably try the game again just to see these, they did such a good job designing the first two cities. :P
5. Has Open World RvR died out in favor of the instanced matches? (Probably with the side I am fighting against all grouped up.)
6. Has all the loss of players impacted RvR to the point where there are no more really massive Open World battles? This was really the thing I loved about WAR, keep battles. When you're outnumbered greatly, and still stubbornly holding that one keep from the enemy...the doors are down and fighting is at the tank wall. :P
7. Ever get around to balancing classes like Bright Wizard and Warrior Priest?
Geeze, when I started this I only had like 1 or 2 questions in mind, but it bloomed. :P Anyway, I did have a lot of fun in WAR and it pretty much killed WoW in my mind. Since after playing WAR with all the cool RvR I couldn't go back to WoW and it's crappy PvP system/mindless PvE. But, it did(does?) have a lot of problems, biggest one not being able to play because of crashes. And with my current game (Champions Online) taking a hit right now, I'd really like to go have another shot at WAR.

I've looked into coming back several times as well, but the fact of the matter is that the game is nowhere better off now than it was a year ago. I was as hyped up for this game as most were, and was crushed by its immense shortcomings. This game has it's days numbered
I've tried rejoining three times, each time I've quit within a month.
Don't come back, just give up.
Get into Aion or wait for SWTOR.
Just resubed myself, but have to say I won't be contiuing at the end of September. On the plus side it is much more stable than I remember it at launch, can't coment on end game as I stoped caring about lvl'ing after tier 1 as I did when I originaly played it. Also I made a new toon on the e.u pvp server and didn't see another soul in more than two hours of gameplay. The Core servers did seem to be well populated which I found a bit confusing seeing as WAR is ment to be a pvp centric game. The Rvr was all about the zerg still. Do think this game has some very good and inovative features but they don't work without a population which i'm sure has been mentioned very many times by wiser heads than my own. Personaly after a year was hoping this game would sort it it's crap out, and to be fair i did have a good time playing this month but if I want to play a game on my own will play elder scrolls or the my own personal fave at this time, Blood Bowl. Dont know what the population is like on the state side servers, but Eu is prity empty at the lower tiers, but the population I did encounter were very cool and helpful people.
I had the same situation. I resubbed and quit playing before the month was over. I was on a "high pop" server, but the fun was gone after Tier 2 and the community is kinda crappy. (Not that WoW is fantastic, mind you)
A witty saying proves nothing.

try dakfall, ryzom, or fallen earth instead
Why do people bother resubbing for this unmitigated garbage? The game is so far gone, it should be obvious to even the most hardcore Warhammer fan.
Maybe, But as I mentioned in my earlyer post, did think this game had a lot of potential and was hoping mythic would pull there respective fingers out and sort the problems. Personaly always prefer to make up my own mind about games rather than go on anybodys opinion, and you have to admit a lot of the most vocal elements on these forums seem to hate everything. So for myself I can't take there opinions seriously. (even though in this case may grudginly have to agree:))
Thanks for all the info guys. Reason why I wanted to return was I had a lot of good memories of RvR. Of course this was in the months after it went Live so there were plenty of people to fight with. Really is a shame as I haven't had as much fun in a MMO since WAR (in PvP). Might have to try Aion, really miss the seige warfare. Lots of fun while it lasted.
I got back into the game, and I still enjoy the quests, PQ's and RvR (when there are other players around). Unfortunately for me, there just aren't enough players for it to be worthwhile. I want to be able to enjoy all aspects of the game, and with limited population, I don't think RvR is going to be much fun. I will keep checking back, though. I really do like the game. It just needs more people to play
Great overall design, however the severe lack of variety at the end game has still yet to really be addressed. I do hate to say it but it's days are slightly numbered depending on what they will be planning to do with it. (F2P w/cash shop anyone??)
Momo sucks, I have proof.
I'm thinking about coming back too. Anyone tried 1.3.2 yet? i'm thinking about doing the 10 day free time to come back after that comes out
After playing from Beta through the second month after launch, I quit until just before the 1 year anniversary. I REALLY love the Warhammer lore, have played a ton of the games, and loved the look and feel of WAR itself. What made me leave it was the simple fact that it was just too buggy, and overall frustrating with memory leaks and crashes. I tried it again, and sadly, as much as i wanted to get into it, I quite playing after a couple weeks. Its been uninstalled for a while now, and I am pretty sure I still have playable time left on my account. It makes me really sad too, I would love this game if only it were polished up and actually playable (all of the time, not just some, not just most - ALL.) Its not like my system is all that terrible, I could run two EQ2 windows at once (not on low settings either), three or four WOW's no problem, and AoC on high as well, but when it came to WAR running on extremely low settings i still got an average of 10-20 fps? Not acceptable...Nothing was worse than hitting the low end of that average (0 fps) when trying to heal, only to see half the warband dead once i got control of my toon again... =| I tried every "fix" i could find in every forum i could find one as well, sadly none worked...
It really is just too bad, cause I would have invested a lot in this game if only it were playable.
