Here are a few choice ones... I wonder if they are selling what the devs are smoking...

Swashbuckler

  • Swashbuckler’s Charm: A group member of the opposite gender becomes flustered with your charm.

Troubador

  • Rousing Celebration: Prompt your group to dance in celebration.

Mystic

  • Form of the Builder: Transform a group member into a beaver.

Inquisitor

  • Enforced Reverence: Force a group member to kneel before your greatness.

lol, some of these sound pretty interesting. Quite a few really original ideas too. Although I'm wondering how they are going to translate some of them gameplay wise. (especially the Swashbuckler's "talents" ::::02::)

Well, while these look kinda strange, they said that the more utilitarian(ones you will actually use image) spells will be put up tomorrow.

I don't think a single one of those "spells" is anything but fluff...and some of them seem very "griefable".  Like forcing emotes on other players.  We will see how this pans out...

My sentiments exactly. I was glad to hear they were incorporating things to make the classes unique and all, but what I've seen so far wasn't quite what I was expecting.

I'll give them points for creativity, though, even if it is a bit bizzare.

Agree 100%, this isn't anything like I was expecting. I looked at the calendar and April 1st is still quite a ways away ::::37::

Never say "OOPS!" always say "Ah, Interesting!"

Don't get excited about a tax cut. It's like a mugger giving you back fare for a taxi.

I just want to know if it will play Winona's Big Brown Beaver by Primus when they turn someone into a beaver.

Why are most of you bashing these Ideas? You never experienced them before and as stated are only the START of what's to come. What?..You expect an "Uber" ability off the get go? *Cough* riiiight.

Realize that they are giving you a sample of what is impleted or to be. There are a mixture of things for different Classes/Races and I'm pretty sure that EVERY Class will get different kinds of "Special" things. What you see listed does not define the finished product but a FIRST in the attempt of individualization amongst Class/Race combonations and it's STARTING to look good.

What is nice about it is that not ONE class has the same spell ect in this regard as another Class/race.

Give it time, try it out...THEN judge it, because you CANT judge something you havn't tried yet with either good or back feedback.image

I like these spells... being a roleplayer type... I think they will add some fluff I will enjoy.

Their uses could be quite interesting.

/agree with the above poster.  These spells sound like fun, and games are supposed to be about fun, right?

They do indeed add the possibility of more traditional roleplaying. I'm fine with them, especially since I don't have much else to go off of other than what was written.

  • MisterJawMisterJaw Member Posts: 49

This is 100% fun.  It's not meant to be an ub3r l33t spell set for taking down mobs.  It's flavor!  You take flavor out and people will yawn.  I notice you didn't mention any of the other abilities of the classes listed.  That's probably because you went, "Cool." and moved on to the next one.  These specail abilities add some semblance of roleplaying to a group experience.

I'll bet my bottom dollar (knowing that you wouldn't have to dig far to get to it if I lost the bet) that you cannot use these abilities during combat AND that they automatically cancel when combat begins.

These new spells sound like great Role Playing fun and this is after all a role playing game.... I'm so conflicted now... I was gonna be a swashbuckler but an Inquisitor is sounding soo attactive.  Kneel before me, maybe you need encouragement?  Feels like darth vader.  I love it.

Pfft!  You pissed me off.  Pow you are a beaver!

    LOL! I love it!

You could put on some great rp 'plays' with these too.

They just sound like a lot of fun. I hope they include more fluff like that to play with. Not just spells, but zany items too.
