I'm trying to get a refund but have hit a "FU" brick wall with Steam support.

Who fancies a massive law suit?

    Honestly?

You're willing to have a "massive" court case over a $50 game? It's people like you that have fucked this world.

Suck it up and either play the game or get on with life.

Yet people still manage to spread the use of the word "Redicules" around here.

I always thought you couldn't get a refund for open software and cd's... ?

  • CaleveiraCaleveira Member Posts: 556

You could bring a class action only if you could prove breach of contract and unwillingness to compensate/settle in a massive scale. Not very likely...

    Just to make things clear...
I speak for myself and no one else, unless i state otherwise mine is just an opinion. A fact is something that can be independently verified, you may challenge such but with proof. You have every right to disagree with me through sound argument, i believe in constructive debate, but baseless aggression will warrant an unkind response.

Why are you trying to get a refund?

The UK is hitting the queues we got for the first three days...
They are all giving up already.

Because we all know no one from the US threw their teddy into the corner because of the queues, you were all really civilised. Life on planet asshat must be great, meanwhile in the real world, folks everywhere are annoyed with the problem regardless of nationality.

My Colour Is Vomit green, I puke on the tards with stupid colour sigs. My symbol is ,,!, O ,!,, My enemies are any prat with a colour sig, a meaningless personality test, or a pointless list of games and classes.

Sir, I have to admit I'm rather surprised as well. I would have figured that it would be impatient American players threatening litigation and tossing insults after three days of server hiccups on a new game launch. I won't argue that we did not get frustrated, or that there weren't plenty of irritated threads from NA players. However, as far as I know, nobody sued, and plenty of people are playing and enjoying the game - only a week later.

As few people seem to believe that we had the same problems, here is a screenshot of our servers on the third day Aion servers were live in NA:

    image
As you can see, two full servers have crashed, and the rest are near max population with queues of about 1500 people. It was even worse the day prior - most servers' status were "Full". Please keep in mind these servers are shared among North, South, and Central America, as well as some Oceanic players.

I'm not condoning NCSoft having problems, although in my opinion, they have made some very good points in justifying why they opened only a certain number of servers to start out with.  I would very much prefer an absolutely flawless launch. We're simply trying to help you enjoy a game you are not likely to get a refund for, with our own experiences from merely a week ago. Everybody here opted to start playing Aion in its initial week.

I would suggest  you give the game the better part of a week before spending the money on a lawsuit you are quite unlikely to win.  You oughtn't be billed to play for at least the free 30 days trial.

Never deal with company you want refund from. Deal with bank / CC company. They are on your side. They will virtually always rule on your side. Also, the company most often simply will not contest the refund as it cost more to do that then the cost of the game. I have never lost a refund request this way.

PS...I think Aion rocks and would not want my money back...give it some time to hammer out its growing pains.

Suppliers of the game will often offer a refund, however the company that madhe most you will ever get from someone like NcSoft is free game time, or in-game products, or in the case of Tabula Rasa free access to Aion/next game (which I still have not used).

Tisi do you play Asmod or Elyos on Siel?

Objectivity is delivered with a lack of personality made for the mainstream but never used for the mainstream.
