Umm... If you are basing your message on just the movies as what I can detemine by your statement then that sir makes no sense. If the entirety of StarWars Lore there is a plethora of examples of jedi's meeting their match with non-jedi opponents. An all Jedi game is not a good idea on so many levels, first with the terrible assumption that everyone wants to be a jedi.
sorry sir you need a stronger argument then the current one to convince the masses on a all jedi mmo
Although the levels of my character are low i have played each game for about a year each except EQ 2. I am a casual social gamer. I live for the experience of the community not leveling and thus my views come from this perspective
I dont care what perspective your views come from... if you played those games for a year each and only reached a high lvl of 35 your comments and perspectives realy dont mean crap.. I dont care if you were in to the community or not or a social gamer.. In a year you should have been max lvl on all those games..
That has been bothering me had to get it out...
As for the original subject... No a game should never have one OP class then you have 99999999 billion players the same damn class and it gets boring, stupid, and pointless if you would like to play that type of game stick to the single player games and you will be ok...
As for bringing this stupid point up all the time... WHY DID YOU MAKE ANOTHER STUPID POST ABOUT IT THEN..... STUPID!!!!
The other point being if Jedi are the most powerful class, then they are the only class. You want to play a game of nothing but Jedi? Sounds kind of boring.
Yeah, if you've played BF2 then you KNOW that this gets boring after a few times, but monotonous would better describe it imho.

when I write "all Jedi mmo "I mean it in terms of making Jedi's the most powerful class in game. Same as being and all one class mmo.
You had a problem in another thread reading, you apparently have the problem here. He never said the game should be, he was using an example. And you thought he was being serious, stop now.

An FPS is different. I want everyone to be the same in a shooter, means we're all equal and may the best shooter win. That's not me, I kinda suck, but man did I play the heck out of some Battlefield.
I musta got killed a bazillion times. Then I got right back up, shot someone in the back and went Woot! I got you ya bastard! and then I got shot, and then I got shot again, and then I got shot some more.

Dude i did not have a problem with what i read. Even as a suggestion it is a bad one, and you know it. what needs to stop is people not responding in a proper manner to these types of post and killing it with in the first 3 post.
As for Darksunrise whateva their name is. You should know better as well then to try to comment on anyone's play style. I represent the make or break majority of mmo players which is the casual gamer. Once any MMO looses the casual gamers it is a good at dead because the all so "elite hardcore gamers" are not enough to keep most (i am not saying all) MMO's afloat.

What the hell man, what suggestion? This thread is a retaliation towards people that think Jedi should or will be over powered. The OP was explaining that Jedi have fallen to other people that are not a Jedi.
Then Ihmotepp followed up with saying that if Jedi was all powerful then that's the only class there would be, because other professions wouldn't compare to something that is over all a better choice. What suggestion are you talking about, your post followed those two. Perhaps you can point out what your on about.
I understand it is a retaliation. I never disagreed on the point of an OP Jedi. Dude this is an MMORPG forum... LOL... like you said it is not that serious.
Eh, I just don't get what more you want him to post about it. He wasn't basing his arguements on just those few videos. I really wouldn't expect him to post a whole list of Jedi deaths to random people. If you feel motivated enough go for it. Hell, get MMORPG to sticky it.
People are stuck in the notion that Jedi and Sith are all powerful. I always assumed it was because they had a mysterious connection to something. Where as your typical Bounty Hunter is some one that excels in marksmanship, nothing mystical about that, but just as deadly.
Jedi Clone Republic Academy!.... mmm, Jedi as a class, mmm, how about Jedi with class?, lol, I mean two sides warring together: Jedi vrs Sith (check), various classes or subclasses or whatever being a Jedi crafter, Sith fisherman, Jedi sailor, Sith dollmaker... xD (like Aion) thus killing the IP... =P , all the other nonjedi would be NPCs, itll be a MM+MNPCORPG!!!
How about Wiimote Sword handling!, the game would be PvP, you will choose the skills to use from a skill pool that you have leveled and the Force use would use charge meters that get exhausted with use and charged thru time that u havent got hitted by ur enemy!
Having played SWG from beta up to the NGE, it was apparent how chasing the holocron killed the game. Since ToR will allow Jedi from the start, how does BioWare plan on making it so that Jedi are special, yet not overpowered? It seems like an impossible task to please both sides of that thought.
********************************
So what were trying to do is with all the classes we make the very heroic classess so if you're playing a republic trooper or smuggler or bounty hunter your not just a 'run of the mill' class you are one of the elite you are the atheletes for instance the Republic trooper is actually part of the Havoc squad which is... you know almst kin to the green berets. So...you know if you watch the movies not all jedis were 'Gods'. Yeah they were very powerful and great but, you know like, BoboFett - Jango Fett - you know they all held their own to certain extents against them. So you'll be playing a character like that.
The other point being if Jedi are the most powerful class, then they are the only class. You want to play a game of nothing but Jedi? Sounds kind of boring.
Exactly. Or they would be such a dominant class that no one would want to play anything else for fear of being constantly owned and the other classes would go to total waste. The level of a jedi is what is important. A veteran BH could easily stomp a padawan right? Why not keep it the same in the game. I get what you are saying, but you have to understand that there needs to be class balancing or the game will absolutely flop.

If you provide certain classes with an evasion tactic or promote more grouping (OMFG! NO HE DIDN'T SAY GROUP! It's an MMORPG, YES, the idea is to play with a group of people) within guilds the balance isn't all that necessary.
However, I prefer balanced classes. It's not that difficult to balance them (I'm kidding), so here's to hoping for balance!
when I write "all Jedi mmo "I mean it in terms of making Jedi's the most powerful class in game. Same as being and all one class mmo.
yes that would be not-so-fun, but unlike what the initial poster said, many people and even droids have killed jedi outside the novels like in the 2nd movie, did you not see the jedi get massacred by the droids before the troopers showed up.

OP you have obviously not read much lore at all then. Jedi are constantly outmatched by non-force users.
And either you don't read threads all the way through or you just can't catch a sarcastic remark when you read it.
