well according to amazon.co.uk they got release date down as 25th feb.
only thing that is annoying the hell outta me is the amount of closed beta keys flying about on Ebay, i myself missed beta registration as i had registered for Dragon Empires long before WOW registration period so thought i would'nt be greedy incase i got accepted to both, now they've scrapped Dragon Empires altogether and what do we find loads of people selling their WOW keys. this may seem harsh but it would be great if Blizzard could take back the keys and re-issue them to people who would be able to aid in the beta rather than profit from it(i myself would love one but i've resigned myself to the long wait for open beta)
Personally i think ignoring the european market is a bad move.
Granted they did target the 2 biggest markets first asia and NA but european market is growing very fast .
I bet mythic still kicking themselves for selling the right to DAoC to GoA in europe.
SoE recognizes this after waiting a long time to do a euro SWG release and got at best an average response.
Shadowbane was hugly hyped in europe but by the time it came for sale in europe it went direct to bargain bin.
Now you could say ah but those games had problems thus european by the time they got it knew better then to rush into buying it.
Thats true ,but WoW and EQ2 are basically in direct competition. Both are good games(no fanboi flames i played both and they are both GOOD!).
As it is EQ2 is rushing to the release to get a head start on WoW worldwide. While NA and Asia could end up waiting for the extra 2-4 weeks or so b4 WoW goes live Europeans will not wait 3 months when EQ2 is going to be readily avaliable and has gotten loads of good reviews in the UK(dunno about other european countries) in most major magazines.
I honestly don't understand this need for european release date and servers.I heard numerous reasons why but none really make sense.
I mean back in 1997-1999 we used to get EQ and UO expansions about 2 weeks after USA and there was no issues.Heck in this age of broadband the ping is meaniless i played CoH with zero lag i played USA servers on planetside and had great ping.
It just seems funny that blizzard would hand europe to EQ2 .

Richijefe
Feb 4th doesn't sound unreasonable...not sure I can last that long without a MMO *shivers from withdrawal*
