Anyone with a bit of knowledge about the industry would know that servers PCU months after release is 1:3 AT BEST.
21k users per server, 162 servers in korea+china, do the math.

About the OP, just another Anti Aion patroller, we have many in this forum, people thinking that this game doesn't deserve to be in the top 5 rating even tho its the second most played game over here, people are more rabid when they disagree with the masses.

There is quite a lot of hate for Aion indeed.

I suppose it's not very surprising. Aion is a korean mmorpg which means many narrow minded people will simply write it off as an asian grinder even when it isn't, and a lot of people only played the beginning areas which i'll admit don't really give a good representation of the what the game is like and probably drag on a bit too long. It can easily take up a day of playing to get out of the starter area.

At level 26 I was looking at 8+ hours to level with maybe 6 quests in those 8 hours.   What part of that isn't an asian grinder to you?

A quick look at Aion source shows that quests which have a level requirement of at least 26 show up 9 quests, and thats assuming you did every quest before that. If we look at the amount of quests that are suitable for level 26, the amount is 18 and that's just the elyos side.

What part of that isn't an asian grinder? Everything. Go play a game like Lineage 2 or Silkroad where you will be fighting the same enemies for days and then come tell me Aion is an asian grinder.

Lates example Aion, people who tell you there's no grind when the game past lvl 20 is one HUGE grind, hours of grinding to get one level when you're lvl 20+.
Vanguard, another example, people claiming it had no bugs when it had tons on release and everyone QQ'ing they crashed.
There needs to be a new system in-place where people are much much more scrutinised when they lie about MMO. I am so incredibly sick of this, you can't even trust normal people anymore since they will hide every faulty aspect of their game and everyone is disappointed when they finally play it.
When people and especially magazines / bloggers and sites, LIE, they need to be pointed out and scrutinised. Every time a PC game gets sold under the wrong impression, the wrong companies keep on making money. No wonder this industry is in so much trouble.

    CONCRETE EXAMPLES:
IGN preview claiming Aion has no grind:
    pc.ign.com/articles/102/1027688p2.html
    VS
Eurogamer smashing Aion's grind in every line:
    www.eurogamer.net/articles/aion-the-tower-of-eternity-review

I can tell you from playing Aion that IGN was LYING and Eurogamer wasn't. How am *I*..........as a consumer, supposed to take this stuff serious anymore?

It must sound harsh to many in our days of compromise and balanced opinions. But the truth is, that the OP is right! People just lie. The problem is, when you shout out a lie with enough convinction and loud enough, people will doubt their own experience. You'd be surprised to know how many people are easy to doubt their own insight and follow what another say and even start to see things as they say, just because someone said it loud and willfull enough.

Enough people get into power that way. Sad, but alas not to be changed.

Ya but no one lied to you.  No where does the IGN review says they get pass level25.  And when IGN says Aion have 3.5 million players in may, they just included subscription which paid 0 dollar.

    Let it go, cheers.

Nothing is killing the genre. It is doing just fine. There are more players. There are more games. What are you talking about?

Reviewers sometimes don’t play the game they are reviewing or if they do they skip through it. Players are governed by a emotional attachment to their game which makes them massage the truth.

Of the two in my mind reviewers are lying, players are just letting passion rule their minds.
