The only thing that will kill WoW is an MMO that doesn't completely suck.

No wai! The mayan calender is just like computers when 2000 rolled around, it just couldn't compute the way forward!

    Or..not.

    ---

Seriously, why does WoW need to die?

And how many do you know were running around like Chicken Little? I knew a few sadly, then had my fun at their expense later.

But...so many people believe in it already. And there are websites dedicated to it. Surely, they can't ALL be wrong, can they?!

The thing that will kill WoW is the complete removal of any thought process when it came to spec'ing and gearing your toon.

With the Cat release it seems the Blizzard said "Hm, we have a game created for twelve year olds, we should probably cater to their intelligence level as well!" Unique stats gone, incredible overpowering of almost every class. I believe this EXP will burn the community out.

In the future I predict it will be not unlike the movie Surrogates / Matrix / Wall-E...

We shall be large blobs sitting on moveable chairs  staring at mutiple screens and largely  physically inactive.  We'll value our E-selves more so then the reality.

In the future WOW 3 has 30 million subscribers and all currencies are matched to the WOW dollar not U.S. dollar.  Oh and WOW 2  killed you a few years before because you forgot to eat.

In all honesty, who cares? Why do people care when WoW dies? The most popular/subscribed game in an era with over 20+ million players, is going to be a simplified game like WoW, how can you expect games that are actually good and full actual MMO content.. like forced grouping while leveling, to take WoW and kill it. It won't and Blizzard is smart, has a ton of money and is willing to milk their game for what it's worth, and is really good at it.

Will it die? One day, quit worrying about that subject, and worry about finding a game YOU enjoy.. I don't see why anyone would be delighted that WoW would "die".. unless it was that the game they love and enjoy is the one taking their subscribers...

I don't know everything about the Mayan Calender, but I do know that there a short-cycle and a long-cycle. We are currently in the 12th long-cycle of the Maya Calender and that will end on December 21st, 2012, and the 13th long-cycle will begin.. people who believe their Calender has a "true end" are not fully researching the mechanics of the Calender or are just trying to cause fear.. kinda like the Y2K.

Everyone knows that  WoW will finally die of syphilis from all the whores playing it.

What's the answer to the OP's question?   When all the kids playing WoW discover the opposite sex, the game will die.

I say we don't want WoW to do. Because the people who actually like playing WoW.... they aren't the type of people I want to be playing with in my game. I mean really.

Haha, I don't really know how to works completely, but I think what we see as a "yearly" Calender would be a short-cycle.

I can see wow been played for the next 10 yrs (lets hope not) - if 20 other MMORPGs came out the same time as wow did, there would have been a challenge.... instead companies waited good 2 -3 yrs for people to waste all they're money and time on wow, people have spent too much time playing wow that they are so bored of playing any other game cause they know it won't compare to wow, or they think YEAH its going to be different - they buy another game and come running back to wow in a few days.... it's always going to be the same. Well thats just my opininon.

Come on you other game companies think! THINK!!!!!  bring out somefin thatll bring the amazement back to people and the feeling back of actually playing a new MMORPG and not something that looks and feels the same as any other mmorpg.!
