The performance issue was definately one thing that was making me hesitant about trying it again. Was a very good game otherwise I thought....though not a big fan of the Mad Max/Post Apoc setting in general.

Yes, a lot. For me a at least; there has been an important fix a few patches ago which made the client not adress a certain file constantly but load it only once when entering a new area. Which means entering a busy town is only really laggy the first 5 - 8 seconds instead of constantly. Also there have been various other optimization efforts.

I think the game should (and probably 'will')  improve even more in this regard though.

Why is it that an opposing opinion must come from a naysayer or hater? I can assure you that a video game is the least significant thing in my life. There's no possible way one could be deserving of hate. It's just opinion. I find the game to be bland, uninspired, repetitive and boring. Our characters are cookie-cut carbon-copies of each other from graphics to abilities. There is only one mold for a combatant and one mold for a crafter. Again, that's just opinion. My experience with the game is about 180 out from the OPs. Still I thought his writeup was skillful and concise and it really could be true in the right plane. I stopped doing drugs years ago, so it won't hold true in mine. Anyway, please try to accept that your opinion is not the universal truth.

    Dude,

You are the one, who expressed his total disbelief that someone can actually like this game. That is totally immature, I'm sorry.

I have always said, there is nothing wrong with not liking it, but coming here (or anywhere by that matter), and displaying your disbelief on how not everyone has the same taste as you, just makes adults smile.

    Think about it :D

Or we can just sit around and criticize anyone who likes a game that we don't like, because obviously if their opinion is different than mine there must be sinister motives behind it...

The review was very thorough, and very worthwhile to read for anyone considering playing the game.

I played in Beta, and there were a lot of things that I liked.  It certainly has the potential to be a great game, I'm just not sure if it's worth the investment of my time and money just yet.

Criticizing, with aspects and examples is a good thing.

Stating, that someone does not like the game (without even giving a reason at all) is perfectly fine. Each to their own :)

However, popping in just to express how "anyone else who has different opinion or taste is either on a different plane, or uses drugs" - shall I comment any further?

Some people just don't recognise themselves.... said but true.

Please Donnie, do go on. I'm slightly interested in seeing how you fill in the black space between the lines. What else are they saying? Or do the spaces whisper?

Without going overboard, I really, really am starting to love this game.  When I heard about this game when it was in development I thought it would be a cool game from the sounds of it.  But like so many other games I was ready to be disappointed, to be let down once again.  So I am very surprised.

I think there is this precu swg feeling about it.  No it's not exactly like swg. Infact if you wanted to make a list of every way it's different from swg, it would probably be a long list.  This feeling is intangible.  But with the AP points and the freedom to do so many different things with your character, it sucks me in and has me thinking about it  a lot, just like swg used to do. And there is exploration and this huge virtual world, like swg.

I like how my character looks, and how she can change her hairstyle on the fly.  From an rp standpoint, I love it!  I love the clothes, how there are options on how you can wear certain items.  Contrary to what some may feel, I love how the characters move and the emotes.  I love my character :)

The music is cool.  The Western feel of the game is cool.  The post appocolyptic setting is cool.  Crafting sucks you in...atleast it has me.  Now, if I could only find the AH I could start doing some business.  I like exploring and not catching agro every 5 ft.

Right now I'm making a hybrid character.  She crafts, she melees, she uses crossbow and pistol and first aid.  Maybe she will not master anything, but she is fun to play and I am getting a feel for what I like in the game.  I did the same thing when I first started playing swg incidentally.

Now some people may not like the game.  They don't like the graphics or the animations or whatever.  That's fine.  You have a lot of shiny games to play and many more coming up.  Go play those.  This one is mine.

Nice post :) It is indeed a perfect game immersion wise and it sucks me in just as much. Today I finally got to training a better horse; a white Long Distance Runner with 20 bag spaces and good food per mile efficiency. It was a long winding process to get all the appropriate skills and write the books though. It is now 'in the oven'  and should be ready in an hour. Another day well spent in FE.

Friendly tip: I understand that you want to try different things in your build, but the general consensus is that if you really want to be effective at later levels you should be careful with spreading your points too much over different stats and weapon skills because the amount of AP is limited and you can't max everything and enjoy their specific max level perks later on in the game.

But! It is always nice to have a crafter character and if you enjoy it and don' t strive for perfection in endgame pvp, there is nothing wrong with your choice and you could always make another char to specialize in what you found out you like best.

Beginning October 23, the wastelands of Fallen Earth will be home to throngs of unwelcome Infected for more than a week in the zombie-killing spree referred to as “Days of the Dead.” To help combat these Infected, the development team of Fallen Earth is releasing thousands of trial keys through media partners MMORPG.com, TenTonHammer.com, Massively.com and EscapistMagazine.com -- check out these sites for more information.

"The trial keys give gamers fifteen free days to explore Fallen Earth during an exciting event,” said Jessica Orr, Marketing Manager for Fallen Earth. “When players upgrade their account to live service, all of the items gained during the trial will be available."

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

Agreed with everything in this review...

this game feels like an RPG.. .with the MMO attached. Some of the items you pick up and quests are just laugh out funny and fun. (some even have a two way path which YOU pick).

fantastic  game, one which you NEVER see any goldsellers, let alone spend 10 minutes trying to block them all. GMs are always patrolling the channels.

just addictive. logging out at night, i know in the morning all my crafting will have been done (a more fair way of crafting so you aren't popping every best gear in the game straight away... plus not spending 20 seconds each single item staring at the screen unable to move - hi Aion)

"nothing actually matters, we're just slightly evolved monkeys clinging to a dying piece of rock hurtling through space waiting for our eventual death." - Frankie Boyle, Mock The Week

Hehe, gratz, Donnie :) It's green right? Think I saw one, but only once.

Working with two friends now on improved motorcycles to get us on electric bikes. I'm learning improved tires and engines 1, the other guys sort the frames, control systems and putting them together though ultimately I really want to have an interceptor.

    Must ... travel ... faster!

Well, shame on me, but I don't even remember the color :D Mind you, only had it for about 15m before I got distracted from the game (call from the girl lol), so hopefully today I'll just have time to check.

What i certainly know, is that I will need to get used to the different controls :) it is NOT a horse, that's for sure!

Ah, and I love the fuel efficiency, I never had an FE ATP, but I can imagine it was very tough on gasoline. This one is not bad at all, almost similar to the horse in distance capabiliy. And I already have 10 cans of gasoline made by myselg.... and mats for about 10 more. So no worries.....

(I just needed a modern vehicle for the Mad Max immersion... so far I felt more like John Wayne :D)
