Damage loss in pvp ?

Hi,

 

Yesterday I did a duel with my assasin. I was 20 and my opponent was a 21 Mage. I was my first pvp expierence and I was suprised that the damage I did, was only about half what I do on PVE Mobs in that lvl. We tested a bit and saw that the magic damage of the mage is about the same as in pve but the melee damage is much lesser.

So the question, is there a scaling for the melee damage in PvP in this game ?

What kind of manastones he had equipped?

 I dont know, but his physical deff was about 200 , thats not that much for lvl 21

Yes I know forsure Im doing much less dmg than in pve even against clothies and Im a glad

Depends on your damage type and the oppositions resistances to the type of damage plus dont forget Aion has a  unique combat system

Forward: +10% Physical Damage +10% Magic Damage, -20% Physical Defense -20% Magic Defense

Backward: +500 to Parry +500 to Block, -70% Physical Damage -40% Movement Speed

Strafe: +300 to Evasion, -70% Physical Damage -20% Movement Speed

So it's rather a complex system fighting pvp compared to the pve. Also Mage has stone skin ability which absorbs a huge amount of damage up front.

I know this with the movement stats, but in the duel we where just testing.

He disabled his stoneskin, and none of us where running aroung, I did AutoAttacks, I did some skills and right after this I did the same on a mob. So we could see that the damage was about the half on him as on the mob.

We though its some Kind of PVP ballace thing.

The game works like that. Please do some research.... You do 40% less damage in PvP so it doesn't become a one shot fest like another game I wont name.

He said his magic damage was about the same... Or were he wrong ?

HE Said he was for sure that his damage was the same, I got the feeling too.

I wasn't sure so I looked around & I can't see anywhere that there's a distinction between melee & spell. I think your friend is wrong.

Yes there is damage reduction in PvP. At least for CRITS what I know. Wouldnt want Stunning Shot to crit for 2k in PvP would we?
