I've seen a few remarks on how people don't care about their levels, don't care to have the best gear and getting the next shiny thing. Well I've seen some posts in the spirit of that.
IMHO, I thank that is a good thinking and a real good and fun approach to play MMORPG's not only concerning Fallen Earth.
So the thinking behind this poll is if it is easier to play "like that" with Fallen Earth. Please read it before voting as I found it hard to formulate the questions.
---------------
1. I need to see the levels flash by as I play to keep motivation.
2. I need to get the gear that is best available for me at my current leve, stats on the gear is more important than looks.

You should redo the poll. Having the best gear is important, but it's better to look good than to be good wasn't an option.

Yeah, I had a similar option at first. But there would be so many options and maybe what you say is understated in those other options in a way without the need to have it specifically.

if the lag and crash issue can be resolved, I will be very happy with this game.
I've usually been someone who really needed something to show for my playing to have fun, but FE isn't like that. I can play 8 hours a day (I am still in school, and after school I really have nothing productive to do. Timesinks are needed) and still have fun, even if I don't level up or don't a new piece of gear. Although, I think this is really because of the AP gain. Every sub-level I gain 2 more AP to skill-up things, that is really a great driving force. It doesn't take much grinding, but it's a little cookie that is always nice to get. Especially because I can open so many new doors with them so often. I'm only level 10, and I've already shaped my character into something I really like (a fairly heavily armored rifleman, who is training a little in pistols).
The process is just done in a way where levels really mean nothing more than a general overview of your AP and because of this it really doesn't mean much to see that little number go up, except I know I get some more points I can put into my main attributes and hence my other skills. It's not like I have to grind for that level though, I only have to grind for 2 AP to get that sweet Scoped Rifle.
In the end, they did a great job and made an amazing, addicting game.

I didn't vote but this is the first game in a long time where I'm not worried about leveling. And by that, I don't want it to sound like I don't want to level but I'm having too much fun questing/crafting and working on my skills with the AP's that I tend to not worry about my actual level but more about keeping my skills/crafting as complete as possible.
One thing to note is I've never really liked crafting in other games. In FE it just works for me and I really enjoy being able to keep myself equipped as I progress.
The levels come secondary.
I actually didnt want to level. I did the ATV quest for a MC so...,well I leveled despite my best intentions. Missed a lot of cool content.
Other then not wanting to level as fast as I did I dont pay attention, rolled around for a long time with 60 unused AP. Game is just a lot of fun and though some complain about same old same old quests I find most of the story lines a lot of fun and great reads. The developers have farmed some classic sci fi films and books for the quests. I see Logans Run, Them, Stepford wives, Body Snatchers and the original Thing among many others.
