DDO(Dungeons & Dragons Online) has recently gone f2p with item mall or optional p2p, you can play through nearly the whole game with out needing to use the item mall, also they award you 25 points(to be used on the item mall) for every new area you enter and quest in.
honestly the best f2p game out there, you can group or solo if ya want doesnt change much. unless of course your a spell caster or specialist class(unless your good, then you can solo it all), with a wide variety of classes ranging from the fighter to the bard. all with their own special paths. the community is very helpful with every thing aswell.
I agree with what the person above said, your best bet is to go with Dungeons and Dragons online. It's a decent game and is a time killer. It's got a built in mic system and a decent community to go along with it.
