Adranos - 2D isometric, under development (screenshots)

Hi all, I signed up hoping for some feedback on the mmorpg that I have been developing since I graduated in June 09. I have completed the graphics engine (still gotta draw a whole lot of tiles) and mostly completed the server and client, with combat and npc interaction being left to do.

Anyway, heres a couple of screenshots of the map maker, let me know if you think this project looks any good :D

Doesn't look awful, but I'd like to know more about the game itself, or what you're planning on making it.

I'd like to combine a number of mechanics and features from other MMOs along with a bunch of ideas of my own, for example; the agressiveness of Tibia and EvE - where players can really screw eachother over.

Crafting abilities will be broad and complex, and actually very worth having and profitable.

Player owned houses are already a part of the game engine and can exist in the real persistant world along with everything else.

All new characters start out the same, character definition (selecting a class, then a sub class, then a speciality) occurs as the character levels. In general players can choose between having a broad array of skills or specialising in just a few.

Early game will be a light grind assisted by quests, mid game will be based upon larger quests - like those in the 'Forgotten Realms' series of games, quests which are very hard and take a long time to complete but reward with big chunks of xp and items.

End game will be heavily instance oriented (instances are coded but largely untested :( .), and PvP oriented - players fight over sections of 'Outworld' - an area of Adranos similar to lowsec in EvE. I havent finished piecing the mechanics of this together yet, but I like the idea of large scale PvP between guilds for sections of land and resource nodes - perhaps a finite number of guild halls are available in the world and the best guilds fight over the larger and more prestiguous guild halls.

If any of this sounds good/bad let me know, I'll be coding it all together over the course of the next six months or so.

There is a 'website'...sort of, something I bought and threw up a long time ago:

    www.adranos.com

I drew that banner about 6 years ago, it's really just a place holder for the domain.

The game is coded entirely in Java - the server too (i know this sounds like a bad idea, but i believe the stability of Java's multithreading makes up for its lack of speed in a server application). The server uses an sql database for any static data.

All the graphics so far I drew in GIMP.
