They are justified because the game permits it. If NCSoft didn't want ninja looting to happen they would have a loot option where you can only roll on things you'd use. What NCSoft really wants is lots of drama so they allow this.
And what game completely stops ninja looting? none
I think part of the issue is these are BoEs and many people are accustomed to BoEs being up for grabs. Though, everything I've seen so far from drops has been a BoE. Is there even BoPs later on? I do agree with you that the person playing the class that the item is useful for should have first priority. Really, the only thing you can do to prevent ninjas is just try to be up front at the start of the dungeon what the loot rules are, and if someone still breaks the rules, blacklist him and inform your friends/guild of the ninja. Also, contact the ninja's guild leader. Also, the game really needs a "greed" option on rolling.
yeah there are BoPs later, actually world drops that are BoP to your account. i found a level 30 mail item the otehr day on my SM. the game wouldn't even let me vendor it. good thong tho i noticed it said nothing about not being able to be put in the account warehouse so i just put it in there for my future chanter. same withe the daevination set , at 30 you get 1 piece of it per character and you can trade them between your account characters and then exchange them for different aromor types. its just a run and talk quest run around a lil bit, buy something for like 90k and they give you 1 piece of a 5 piece set. your 5th alt to hit 30 will have all 5/5 and be able to get the matching weapon. and could always go back on your others to get them the weapon as well.
the set bonuses are pretty sick, the items you can wear on your character and then put in the account warehouse for alts to wear later its pretty nice
Same group, working together on same quests, killing same mobs...I know it's rude, and I wouldn't personally do it, just because that's not how I am, but what makes one person more 'entitled' to an item? Theoretically, couldn't the OP have a stack of said item sitting in his bank, unequipped, going to go sell, and still bitching because the item was "for his class"? I've seen people in WAR actually roll 'need' on an item they even had equipped, just because they could, since it was 'for their class'. How is that any different?
Don't like it, change the loot rules, or don't play in pugs. Bitching in-game and on forums just makes you look like the bitch.
Katsma is Lithuanian for 'he who drinks used douche fluid'.
ninja looting is when someone NOT in your group sweeps in an loots your killed mob. This happens in games that don't have a preventative who killed me loot timer to them.
Aion desperately needs the ability to need/greed roll on items since all items seem to be BOE so far. As even when playing legion groups there has been times when we all pass on something thinking the sorc would need that orb when the sorc either had it or wanted a book. And if we had known we would have all rolled to make who ever got it fair. I am really not looking forward to have to start a master loot with DP system in this game.

neither of you have a clue what ninja looting is it seems
Ninja looting can be done by those within your party who roll on items they intend to sell and not use. In the most basic sense of the terms ninja looting is when you loot something that does not belong to you. Most games like WoW and Aion have the "outsider" looting issue covered because the group who did most damage has priority looting rights and usually it's enough time to loot.
Look if it is a PUG then all members have the right to any loot.
Some of the items are worth a lot, both in use and both as a product that can be sold or disenchanted.
Is it really fair to have a very high value item drop, that is valuable to everyone, yet only one or two people allowed to roll for it? No it is not. Need vs greed only applies in organized groups, where everyone eventually gets a turn at needing an item. In a pickup group everyone is equal.
Back when purple items were a rarity in WoW an epic druid staff dropped in an instance, we had two druids in the group, both wanted it, but in the end all five of us rolled for it, I won. I sold that staff for 1000 gold, back when that was an insane amount of gold and with that money decked out my character out in great gear. So there.

Frankly, I think that's incredibly lame but if you all agreed on it beforehand and everyone said sure then nothing to really balk about. It doesn't bother me when I pass on an item that I know a member of the group can use. Plenty of other ways for me to get coin and I see no reason why someone should lose out on an item they will actually use simply because I want to have another item to sell at the ah, but that's just me.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

yeah yeah, then one day an insanely valuable item drops that makes you reevaluate the whole point.
I don't care for any green or even blue item that someone might want or any bind on pickup item, but if a purple item drops that is bind on equip - well that is fair game in my book. Giving up on that is no different than sending gold to random people.
