Is Aion solo-friendly?

WavinstriderWavinstrider Member Posts: 24

I am looking for a mmo that encourages group play.  I am tired of all the single player mmo's out there.

How hard is it to find a group?  Does it have a good "LFG" system?

Thanks.

it is to a point but there are many areas that will require a group. You will need to group after some quests after lvl 16.

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

It is fairly group oriented. You can level all the way to 50 without grouping but that is just grinding.

LFG channel right now is 25% LFG, 30% various chat, and 40% gold spam. At least that is how it is on my server.

The class you play and how you play it really determines your soloability.  Spiritmasters rule since they have a pet, but the Chanter, Templar and the Gladiator are also considered "Solo Friendly."

I have found that even Clerics and Rangers, considered not to be solo play capable are, if you know how to play.

As far as getting groups go, no sweat.  If you want to be in a group, with the best chances of getting in a group, be a Cleric.  Keep in mind that the Aion Cleric is NOTHING like the WoW Priest.  The Aion Cleric wears chain, is tough and can dish out some damage as well as give out rocking heals.

If being support is your bag, then the Chanter is the best bet since that class is the definitive buff master in the game.  They too are pretty tough and can take a hit and dish out some hurt.

Tanking is the domain of the Templar.  They are the best at it, though a Gladiator with a shield, or a Chanter with mace and shield and good gear can do it too in the less hardcore instances.

If you want to melt faces in the group, Sorcerors are king.  They also have great CC and are often in demand for groups.

The most important time to group in Aion is not so much PVE, but in the Abyss and PVP.  The whole idea of the Abyss is to be grouped up.  You can solo in the abyss, but it is so much more fun and rewarding if you group up.... that, and one solo guy can't take a fort or hold an artifact.

    -_-

He was actually saying the opposite.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

    Short answer-

PvE - half the time yes after 15...no

PvP - not just no, but hell no. Or you will meet the zerg alone.*Whack* off with your head!

At high level, you gain level faster in a group than solo.

So while you don't need to group.  It's adviced that you do.

1-30 is easily soloable, depending on your class, although there is quite a bit of content you won't be able to experience without a group.

If you want to solo in Aion, then I would suggest the following (in this order):

    Spiritmaster

    Chanter

    Sorcerer

    Assassin

You can solo with the other classes, but not quite as easily (it either takes too long, or the damage and survivability isn't up to par with the ones in the list).

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

No, it is absolutley solo unfriendly. Insofar you NEED a group. It is easy to find one beyond level 12 or so, but many people have no clue how to play, since there are many beginners and young folks.

You can level up to max by just soloing stuff (either solo quests or mobs). However, if you wish to complete the campaign for each area, you'll need a team.

While you can level up soloing, you will do it without completing much of the content and will probably find it extremely boring unless you truly enjoy mindlessly grinding mobs. The best areas of the game require a group to complete.

The 2st 25 levels are soloable, but true PvP in the abyss is best done with friends
