An FPS player looking for an MMORPG

Hey I'm looking for an MMORPG that would really spark my interest from what I see in most MMORPGs (point and click.)  I usually play FPS games like TF2, COD4, and CSS, and I'm already interested in APB and Global Agenda, but I really want to play an MMORPG.

 

What I'm looking for is...

Grinding: Takes atleast a month to get high level, I want to have a sense of accomplishment when I reach the highest level and not, damn this is taking to long, or wow that was fast now what?

 

PvP:  I'm a huge fan of PvP games, but no open world PvP.  I would like a game where you can be in a general location and you PvP or you queue up for PvP matches.

 

PvE:  I love grouping up, large raids, and just getting together to take out one big dungeon.  The way you have 30 or 40 people focusing on one boss is awesome.

 

Customization:  Having a unique look to your character is a huge thing to me, if I see a person who looks just the way I do, I'll freak out so customization is a big thing to me.

 

Any ideas?

 

P.S. No WoW, I've been down that road.

you should take a look at darkfall, its a mmorpg with fps elements

Could be Aion, WoW's arena is also pretty competitive at high ratings but honestly, TF2 is the best PvP "MMORPG" these days in my eyes so I'll just advise you to wait 2 more years for a decent MMO.

well it really comes down to what flavor suits you, I like Lineage2 been playing for awhile now but everyone else seems to hate it.

Or if you want, you can try the wide variety of free games too many to list and everyone has their favorites, and will tell you so

then theres Altantica Online-atlantica.ndoorsgames.com Its a turn based mmorpg, rather interesting for about 2 hours

A couple of points match your requirments in FE.

Its FPS with no auto lock or auto aim.

I have been playing since launch and I am just level 12 when with the same amount of hours I would have been hitting low 30's already.  Plus crafting is on real timers so you can't just grind up levels.  I havent got into PvP yet but can't wait to take shots at other players.
