Incredibly Polished, Great Storyline

jd269jd269 Member Posts: 225

Wow.. just wow, they've accomplished alot since the first event, and the game was incredibly polished then already. This game is more polished than any other online rpg i've ever played, other than perhaps City of Heroes (also an incredibly polished game). Sure am having alot of fun.. just wish I didn't have to go right now. The storyline is a good one, gone through a few missions so far, you'll enjoy it if you're looking for an RPG with a story that makes you feel like you really are a part of the world, rather than a camp, and wait for spawn RPG like basically everything else.

The interface is the biggest problem IMO.

I think it needs a complete revamp.

I thought the same thing. You can shrink it and still see the chat text come up. Hit enter if you want to chat then a small box comes up to enter your chat text into and it doesnt take up the whole screen.

Ui is too 1997 with only one bar that only goes up to 8 and i also hate the concept with you having to be intown to change your shortcut bar.
Game is very nice product, but still for some strange reason im not able to like like it.
I really want to like it, but some unknown divine force doesnt want me to like it.

Still i think this game would have been better as a singleplayer game.
But for many players this will be a very good game:)

Interface is basically invisible for me.. I just clicked the chat to invis... and I'm playing at 800x600 so I can run it extra smooth with anti-aliasing and everything else on.

Well always keep in mind that this is ALPHA phase.  By no means is every aspect of the game in place.  Also - this is the most innovative game to come pike in quite some time.  This is not EQ or WOW where everything is familiar and works the same but has a facelift.  As such - the chances of there being a few aspects that you are not that comfortable with or don't like are not unlikly.

As for the main issue you pointed out - the 8 skill panel - this was a BOLD move on the part of ArenaNet....and one that I think you'll have appreciation for after a little more play time and consideration.

For once people will actually have to make some tactical decisions on what they use.  And as many of the guildwars interviews / previews / and other promo relate to - it's alot like the MAGIC: The Gathering Card game in that respect, in that it's all about how well you execute the skills you decide to take in to missions and PvP that will determine the outcome.   Though I don't really like Magic: The Gathering -- After 6 months of ALPHA testing I've grown to really appreciate what ArenaNEt has done with this aspect of the game.  Give it a chance.

As for other grievances - please lay it all out.  You've seen that ArenaNet has been trolliing through the communities and that's because they REALLY DO CARE about what everyone thinks so they can make the best game they can.   Any feedback is a contribution to the game - even if it's constructive critism.

    THANKS!

I think the 8 skill slots are just fine. They would have a hard time putting all 150 skills on the screen at one time image

no there a reason for only 8 skills that is to make this game strategical. so you have to anticipate what your going up against rather it be on a PvM or PvP
