I know that the devs talking about player skill...

But I think that in the end it will come to what weapon players have. And if I understand it right you get better stuff the better you play... so it's like a lvl system in a way.

    Played:
From Earth & Beyond, Anarchy Online, Matrix Online, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa (Beta), EvE Online, City of Villians, Atlantica Online, Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Pirates of the Burning Sea, PlanetSide, RF Online, Second Life, Fallen Earth.

Duh, guys... you had to learn from the start how to aim too... what makes you think WoW players can't do the same?

it isnt all about aim, it's about tactical maneuvers, Planning ahead and predicting enemy movements...  However im not saying that WoW players couldn't do such a thing, i think that statement was.... immature,,,

I don't meant to sound like a cynicist, but you rarely see that in games like this. In some maps for certain games, you can predict where an enemy will be because it's a commonly used sniper placement or people like to hide behind certain corners. But most of the time, as long as you have a clear shot at their head, you're all set.

Sure some are going to be able to aim better than others, but its more about team work than anything.

But then, the same can be said for WoW. I find it funny how people say that WoW takes no skill, despite the fact that things like arena ladders are always populated by the same people and there's a pretty clear disparity between good and bad players.

I hope the game puts in more random elements, like NPCs, random mines (detectable if careful), random maps, chance for gun to go overheated and so on.  Otherwise, the game will become another game to memorise the map and everyone shoot here and hide there game.

This game has to be much better than the current crop of shooters, for it to rise to the top.

I have to agree with most people here, this game looks awesome.

    And 100 vs 100 isn't that bad.

Considering that I've yet to see ANY game where anything passed 40v40 is even remotely fun, it truly isn't bad. I don't know who thinks that zerg vs zerg is awesome; being insta-gibbed is a hilariously good time! Not to mention the lag and FPS issues.

People need to realize that this really isn't your standard MMO. In a standard MMO your PvEing and your enemy is PvEing and you run into each other randomly. The random encounters obviously happen with a higher population and with players spread a crossed a dozen or so zones it makes population important so you can find those encounters.

This game is designed specifically so that encounters aren't random and players aren't spread over a ton of different zones doing different quests.

I think people are getting mixed up like the OP,it's 100k per server but 100v100 battles all happening on that server.

the action districts are not 100 vs 100 they only hold 100, the social districts hold 250

this is from the FAQ sheet on APB.com

Each game world or server has a limit of 10,000 players concurrently online. These players will be playing on district maps which each hold up to 100 players for action districts or 250 players for social districts. Each world has 100’s of these district maps so although a single action district has a 100 player limit, there is no limit to the number of other players you will encounter. For the individual players who top the leagues, their character will become famous across the whole world, not just one district. It’s a brand new gaming concept where the players are the game, full of unique and innovative tools and game play.

I am very interested in this game. I hope it works out for the devs as I would really like it to do well - bit of a breath of fresh air into the mmo genre. All the podcasts I have seen have distinctly impressed me.
