I'll agree that J-Monster is immature, based on the small sample of his postings in this thread.
Perhaps I'll take over his side of the debate, since I agree with him. Maturity cannot be quantified by age. It is not an inherent quality that only shows it's face once we reach the age of 25, 30, 50, or 80. It is possible that I speak only for myself when I say that I would be far more impressed with a mature player guild that actually took time and got to know people before letting them in, or declining their applications. This is the only way to judge maturity - it's an opinion based on personal experience with the applicant. I only skimmed the original post briefly, so I'm admittedly unsure of the whole application process. However, if age is your determining factor - superceding everything else - you may wind up with many immature 25+ players, which is far more pathetic in my mind. I'll admit that the chances of a player over 25 being mature are better than those of a random player in the 13-18 age group. Personally, I don't buy the "we share common interests!" excuse. The whole premise seems a little short-sighted to me. Lastly, colloquial (I'm being nice here) typing has very little to do with age. This post is how I usually type. The whole "ur lyk soo kewl d00d!" thing annoys the hell out of me. Not necessarily because it's a lesser form of communication, but because it really doesn't take any extra care to type words properly. It's all out of habit. I find it proper, and I've always typed in this manner. When I was 10, 15, 19, and now nearly 23.
As an edited side-note.. your posts have quickly deviated from maturity as well. "J-Troll"? That's equivocal to "doody head". Not to mention the "playing in traffic, no one will miss you" comment. Completely unwarranted.
All of that aside.. I do hope that TOG is able to filter out the immature portion of the community. This can be exceedingly difficult due to friendships. It was my last thoughts for j-monster anyway on the subject as im through wasting my valuble time on him. If he and others like him want to spend their time on other peoples threads giving them abuse just because he doesnt agree (and who cares what he thinks) with a guilds outlook. Out of respect for everyone else who uses these forums im not going to reply back to him, simply because they shouldnt have to be subjected to reading his colourful language and pointless posts.
So far TOG have over 3000+ members who are all very nice and they have had no problems with imaturity whatsoever so the concept does work.

My last thought on this thread is fairly simple, just expanding on why I feel the "shared interests" is an excuse. Judging by this.. 70 year olds have more in common with the 30-35 year olds (average age) than 16-24 year olds? I'm -not- saying you should drop the restricted age lower, keep in mind.
