There I was thinking do I go for horse or buggy.
I opt for the buggy thinking it cooler in the long run
So I click the buy now button input my email address
Then onto the input credit card details…. When I wonder where the pad lock is
No it’s not there
No way to entering credit card details on a non secure site
Just a heads up if you thinking about buying through the fallen earth website
Unless someone knows different but i would say go look for yourself

Yes i know i could and most like will either use steam or D2D
I was just pointing out a security problem
I didn't even know you could buy it through them directly. I got it through Steam (first steam MMO, woo) because I couldn't find a box. Seems odd for it to not be secured since their account information page is.
Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.
EAT ME MMORPG.com!
Thx Kordesh thats good to know
i will just buy it from somewhere else with the account page being secure does at least put a little faith back
What version of Internet Explorer are you using?
With IE6 there used to be a padlock icon on the bottom of the page. It seems with IE7 that the padlock is not shown on some secure sites.
When you navigate to the Store page to buy the product from the FE site you will notice that a padlock flashes up on the address bar(right hand side) and then disappears, if you click on the padlock before it disaapears you find the details about the site being secure and refers you to the GoDaddy secure certificates service.

So i do believe that the site is secure. Also it is an HTTPS site(The main idea of HTTPS is to create a secure channel over an insecure network) which indicates security as well.
Definition
HTTP is insecure and is subject to man-in-the-middle and eavesdropping attacks which can let attackers gain access to website accounts and sensitive information. HTTPS is designed to withstand such attacks and is secure (except for old deprecated versions of SSL).
It would be incredibly lax if was not secure.
Doh never even thought of looking for the s
just checked and found it ... thx
Always good to check these things out .... really looks a cool game that sounds like it fills the gap i have been missing in other MMO's
So it's now back to getting the buggy and see u guys online ASAP
Once again thx for the replies

Sometimes the padlock doesn't show up. I forget the exact circumstances, but sometimes depending on how the page is assembled, the browser won't recognize it's a secure connection and so won't show that. In FE's case, there's a warning that some of the content is insecure, which probably means there are images used that are being called from an unsecured folder. Were it a normal non-secure webpage, it wouldn't bother showing that warning. The form itself is secured.
When you click on the warning icon, it says the following:
"The identity of this website has been verified by Go Daddy Secure Certification Authority"
So... it's an encrypted connection overall.
I purchased directly through them and had no problems.

I bought 2 weeks ago, direct through the devs and it was definitely a secure connection then.
Is there any chance that it was a flash form? I think its possible for a flash form to reside on an unsecure site, but still interact with a secure site with the important data.
That could well be it.
