Don't get me wrong. I've watched the original to TNG to DS9, Voyager, all movies and even the more recent poor excuse for a Trek series with that guy from Quantum Leap. But an MMO? Granted it may be good. But I don't think it deserves #1. Game play and content is more or less the most important parts of an MMO, but if my toons look retarded, I just can't do it. They all have this dumb look on their face. They better give us a sims like character creator or this game needs to teleport its way off of the #1 spot. This just goes to show you how many nerds there are out there. In fact there probably weren't many on this site to begin with until word got out of this. All of the sudden you see a lot of new members here. Now we gotta put up with the nerd herd.

If you are on a gaming forum and talking about gaming then you are a nerd.
So therefore, you are a nerd.
Logic that one out for me, it's definitely valid.
The correct title for this thread would have been "Star Trek MMO? ROFLMAO Trekkies!!!", but being that the above applies to you, you have no right to imply a negative connotation to the word nerd towards other people.
Oh, the irony!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OMG IM CRYING <3333333333333

Thinking the same thing.
How long has trek been around now? 40 odd years, couple of generations floating around still.
he he, yep!
But didnt they say the MMO should be like the last movie? So normal people can enjoy it?
This is my new favorite thread.
Nice leet speek in your sig OP.

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.
At least the Trek nerds would be smart enough not to post in dark red print on a black background.

Wait. You've watched all the ST series AND movies AND admit you like them, but if someone thinks a ST MMO is a great idea, they're a nerd? If anything is ROFLMAO, it's that.
Plus, ratings don't mean that much here. It might be #1 now, but that certainly doesn't mean it's the best up-and-coming MMO.
Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu
Future: The Repopulation, ArcheAge, Black Desert, EQN
NERD use to be a four letter word............now it's a six figure one $$$$$$
I'm old not dead. (Nov8tr is pronounced innovator)
OP fails at logic.
This made me spit coke all over my desk! ahahahahahahahahahahah
Oh the joy of dripping irony!
Thanks OP and the rest of the thread posters! Made my day! Ruined my books on my desk!
How many wow fanbois are guna make these threads?
" They better give us a sims like character creator or this game needs to teleport its way off of the #1 spot."
Son... This is cryptic, the company who made most if not all of their buzz from the fact that they have one of the most robust character generator in the industry... I am pretty sure you don't need to worry your frail mental state with the fears of having yo look like a clone of Data.
This have been a good conversation
IMHO, the only thing keeping STO from being a HUGE success was there idea of everyone captaining their own ship. To me, that decision alone is going to cost the company hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Sure, player manned crews will be a future expansion, but the problem is, you only get one shot to make a first impression. I will play this game, but it had the potential to be so much bigger than it will be.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
Best...thread...evah!
The official forums had a push recently to get people to come here to hype it, so that is probably the biggest reason for STO being ranked so high here.
Must be a slow day on the forums I guess... now I've just wasted 30 seconds posting a reply... grrr.... damn all the pointless threads!!
