LF Free To Play MMO with good PVE

williwaw87williwaw87 Maple Story CorrespondentMember Posts: 43

Hi, I currently have a computer with AMD Turion x2. It has 3 GB memory Windows 7

I am looking for an F2P MMO to play casually. (As a last resort to GW when I get bored)

What games would you recommend? I like fantasy with nice graphics. (Fiesta, Deco, etc are too kiddie in terms of graphics) (Magic World Online style graphics are a no no)

I prefer PvE, and enjoy both solo and partying. PvP is ok, but only if it is balanced.

Well for casual play, I really like the games on kongregate.com

For a F2P MMO, I found Requiem to be pretty decent. I also just downloaded Dungeons and Dragons online but I only played long enough to set up the controls with my gamepad. I plan on actually playing through the first tutorial dungeon when my mid-term exams are finished and I'm caught up with my lab reports (I only explained this because I don't want you thinking I don't like DDO, I just haven't done anything aside from mapping my controls and fooling with settings). Soul of the Ultimate Nation may be pretty decent, but I have problems with text resolution when I play it on my TV, though my laptop doesn't have this problem.

Are SUN or Requiem good for casual playing?

Probably as well as any F2P Korean grinder. From my perspective they all play too similiar to each other, but I liked the over-all style of those games because they aren't full of bright colors everywhere. In my personal opinion any game can be "casual" if you don't have friends playing that play more than you. For me, DDO seems like it would be a better game only because I can hack and slash with a gamepad. Guild Wars is much better done than any F2P game that comes out of Korea (this is IMO), but shares a similiar control scheme. So if you are looking for a game to compliment GW in those times when you don't feel like playing it, I suggest DDO because of the different gameplay style. Otherwise, Requiem was bloody and the mobs that I saw were kinda cool looking. The gameplay itself also doesn't feel that bad, just grindy like every other F2P game.

If worst comes to worse, then you could just download any of them and try them, because in the end its going to be your preferences that allow you to pick the one you would enjoy the most. I can only point you in a direction.
