    hey max,
I asked about these glasses a while ago and I got a negative review of them, I heard there uncomfortable and the effect they have on mmorpg's is small, they said that they were designed for 3rd person shooters but of course they claim they are for all games but I heard some people tried it on EQ and it wasnt impressive at all...

    hope that helps

The glasses work as well as the game is coded.

For example, EQ1 'cheats' in it's 3D representation in that the characters, while being 3D, are placed on the screen seperately from the world (not sure how to really explain it) so the effect in the glasses is that the characters tend to float above the ground which looks like shite.

In games that are true 3D, meaning everything is rendered in the same pass, it looks pretty good (games like AO and SoR do this and so the effect is much better).

There are some technical limitations however because, in the end, they are just shutter glasses. What this means is each side of the glasses is open and shut alternately so the image on the screen is only shown to one eye at a time. This creates an effect called ghosting, where residual light from on eye lingers on the brain even after the shutter is closed and the other eye shown the image.

So, you will see the image in 3D, but you will also see the double image from the other eye, but it is faint. In any case, the quality of the image depends on the game engine.

I tried the shutter glasses with the EQII char creation app and it looks like SoE is cheating again with their engine; the effect sucks and it looks unnatural.

It looks pretty tasty in SoR though. I was surprised.
