Is there any mmorpg that can rival wow's end game raid

Shiseiten83Shiseiten83 Member Posts: 29

I'm a pve guy. i like epic raid fights. I like raids that are unique and interesting, not just spank and tank. Currently im playing Aion, sooner or later im going to quit that game as i don't see Aion having unique end game raids.

Games on my waiting list:
Guild War 2
Tera
Rift
Forsaken World

I think EQ2 is the closest you are going to get in terms of end game raiding.

I've gotta agree with the EQ guy, trying to comparing WoW's end game raiding is tough, but I think EQ2 is the closest.  If not I can't think of any other MMO end game pve that is actually epic and fun.  Dunno.  Good luck.

A game that can rival wotlk achievement-circus grind raiding?  Probably anything.

A game that can rival WoW vanilla and TBC raiding?  I hope they don't make it, because I'd loose another few years of my free time.

    stuff and things

I kinda miss black temple's teron gorefiend fight, where you will get  a debuff to turn into ghosts, and only those turn into ghosts can kill those spiders which can place debuff on the raid. EQ2 ? Am i abit late to start EQ2 ? is there enough population in EQ2 for raiding ?

    Games on my waiting list:
    Guild War 2
    Tera
    Rift
    Forsaken World

Good lord I hope not. Hopefully they will all eventually surpass it. WoW's end game consists of grind, grind, grind, constant "same old" dungeon to get all the pieces JUST so you can go to the next tier of raids to rinse and repeat and not get raped instantly...and grind, grind, grind......

Of course though this may have changed by now. I haven't played since a bit after TBC release.

I think that it is more important to give an example of a game instead of just saying "anything". Do you know of a game that comes close to WoW in terms of interesting boss fights? Are there other games that have as much focus into raiding as WoW has? Do other games have hard modes that drop better gear for the players that want to push their limits? Do other games have difficult achievements that challenge players beyond just clearing something once?

I think EQ2 really comes the closest and I believe they focus on end game raiding more than any other game besides WoW.

Even though EQ1 is pretty old, I think it still has the best PvE end game raiding, followed by EQ2 and then WOW.

I agree with the last couple of posters, EQ1>EQ2>WoW for the best end game raiding. IMO EQ has the best raiding in any MMO ever made, but if you are looking for something similar to WoW, you would probably be happier in EQ2.

I know this chick who rivals wow endgame, it's all tank and spank with her too...

Only thing is you end up with the same thing everyone else has, like wow, except you dont have to grind for weks to get it.

Any game that manages to steer as far away from lvling to cap just to farm the same raids over and over again for months on end would rival WoW in my book.

  • The old EQ1 72 man raids were interesting..

But now I would say that EQ2 is better.

I agree EQ2 is better now. The game has advanced quite alot. EQ2 raids can be quite challenging.

FFXI has the best end game of any PvE game, but its not for the weak hearted casual raider.

Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
    Now Playing: N/A
    Worst MMO: FFXIV
    Favorite MMO: FFXI

Can you recommend any good PS3 or XBOX 360 RPGs?

depends on what endgame your looking for....

Darkfall and Aion trump WoW for endgame PvP but fall far short in PvE endgame

Lotro, EQ2, WoW are the top when it comes to PvE endgame but all 3 have lackluster PvP.

i guess you can't have it both ways so pick witch one you prefer (PvP or PvE) and then decide on a game.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Lost odyssey for the 360 is the best JRPG of this gen consoles. Enchanted arms (jrpg)360 or ps3 was pretty fun. Demons soul (wrpg) ps3 exclusive is awsome but id suggest you look into it because its kind of difficult. Dragon age is about to release.

    Quantity:NO

Quality:Yes.AoC has some best PVE dungeons out there but they are not a lot of them and Funcom doesn't seem to have clear future plan for their game.

Lost Odyssey was ok, but way to melodramatic and depressing for my tastes.  Tales of Vesperia, i found, is probally the best jrpg imo if you dont mind more of a anime art style.  Never forget about mass effect, and yea dragon age is coming, but im more of a pc guy so im getting it for that.
