This game I AM going to get I knew that last year before I even played halo 1 in Dec after I brought for my x-mas present (long story).
1) The number one reason, is I love the story, it's great.
2) Graphics, while I don't require MMO games to have graphics like this, my console games are different, since it doesn't look good, then the devs might not have worked much on any of it.
3) It's fun and I'll enjoying playing MP with the guys in my dorm 
What about the rest of ya'll?

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
Console-wise, HL2 is rumored to come out exclusively for xbox, at least for a few months.

I own 3 xboxes only for Halo o.O
Between me and a friend we have 4 xboxes and 4 TV's ready and waiting for Nov 9th. Halo 2 is going to drain all the rest of my time away that is not spent working or playing WoW.
Thank god the wife plays both Halo and WoW with other wise I am sure a divorce would be in the works.
You are a lucky man, sir. Hold on to her as strong as you hold that halo 2 disc, OH NO you broke her ribs!

I've played Halo, Planetside, and Goldeneye (yes there is a point to saying that), and Halo seemes to be the worst of the bunch. Not that its a bad game or anything but Goldeneye was made years ago and it has more weapons. Planetside has considerably better vehicles and more weapons. The only think that is superior about Halo is that it has awsome graphics and a good storyline. Does anyone elese feel this way or am i just a blasphemer.
My guessing "terrible" endings (if it has a terrible ending):
1.- Its a Training program
2.- Master Chief joins the Covenant
3.- Master Chief is an Elite?
4.- Humans become Covenant pets
5.- You discover humans were created by Covenant
6.- Sauron is the Covenant leader?
7.- Covenant are human evolution
8.- Cortana has s3x with Master Chief
9.- Master Chief is g4y and refuses to make s3x with Cortana (human form)
10.- Cortana is evil, she controls the robot thingies.
11.- Everyone becomes an infested Terran (yeah, damn Flood)
I'll go halfway with you on that. I have GoldenEye and while I do enjoy it, I much prefer Halo due to the engine. I mean I throw a grenade and BOOM people fly. And while I do wish I could carry more weapons, it does offer a challenge and forces people to think ahead at least before they play the game 20 times and know exactly the best weapon to use. Although I do wonder what kind of upgrades the Cheif has, according to Bungie he's been given an armor upgrade, but I know that wasn't in the book. I think, either way I'll find out the 9th
BTW Perfect Dark is a good game, but WAY TOO MUCH graphics and little fun gameplay in SP.

Ok Glombicki, Yes I was one of those people who played Golden Eye and got additiced to its awsome multiplayer and planetside is pretty much horrible to me. But Halo is still the best multiplayer out there. Think about it when was the first time you could play with 15 of your friends in the same room? One of the reasons Goldeneye was good was because it was new. Same with Halo. And when Halo 2 comes out and has the online multiplayer with the supierior xbox live ( yes superior) it could be the same exact thing as halo 1 only with the online multiplayer i would still play hours at a time. And even though you may think halo 1 was worse then those games, lets face it, it still will sell more do to everyone knowing about halo 1 plus the tons and tons of hype it gets. And lastly Goldeneye went down hill after the one for the 64. I hope that rouge agent is better. Oh and perfect Dark was better then Goldeneye. I only played goldeneye more because i got Perfect Dark when the 64 died.

A little off topic ......
