What kind of hardware are you running?  I run a quad core AMD Phenom, 8GB RAM, and Vista Ultimate.  The only thing I dont do is run an ATI card.  Instead I run on an 8800 GT  512 MB card.

In towns I sport 15-25 FPS, in the wilds I can get up to 70 FPS, running on full resolution.

I agree with the OP. I don't play nearly as much as I'd like, but this game has been a ton of fun IMO. The quests aren't just "go here, kill these" <--- if there is any one thing I pray MMO developers take from TCoS, it's the questing. The combat is GREAT! I'm a FPS fan and this game delivers an great EPIC psudo FPS feel.

As far as MMOs go, this is one I would recommend to anyone. For FREE, you're a fool to not try it.

No matter if you're a solo player or in a group, this game has something you'll enjoy.

Thanks Op.. i'm so bored of mmo's right now.. i do the 29.99 for 3 months of lotro for free, so i can't "quit" or i lose the expansion.. but.. a f2p would be cool.. ddo i might do, but it's "meh"

Any who, i came across this post.. and .. wth i'm going to down load it, a big fat THANK YOU to the op.. why not.

My question is.. gear doesn't matter?  That the fun part of playing these games is finding a cool drop!

I must disagree that all games are just reskinned versions of WoW simply because they follow a "standard MMO" format. However, I really liked this game when I tried it, but stopped playing because I don't like f2p games (I hate item shops and micro-transaction games- I would rather pay a sub fee).

Ok the basics of gear doesnt really matter.  There are collector sets out there that you can construct/find, so this isnt totally lost.  Instead of gear itself theres a sigil system.  These type of drops allow you to upgrade your gear by adding different effectiveness levels to it.

So the game with gear is essentially the same, but different at the same time.
