10 After Wolrd Event Suggestions

dreary79dreary79 Member Posts: 32

These are my suggestions:

1. Follow command, the ability to follow a friend

2. Auto run command. I like to turn this on when I'm typing

3. Duel Swords or Axes. Did U see anyone using a shield?

4. Radar improvments. move the mouse over the radar to see what the target is and attack it.

5. Stats for arena matchs. See how we did. Stats after missions would be cool too. "I did 1500 damage that mission, your melee only did 200. And thanks to Mr. Monk here who rezed 15 times and saved our butts.

6. More missions in exporable areas. Harder bosses all around. They were cake. Bigger Bosses too. Like 3 stories tall.

7. Nearest target key on keyboard.

8. Key to take off all screen stats. This would be cool for screenshots without all the talking, skills and stats.

9. Have Beta events start on Thursdays like the World Event. 2 days is just too short.

10. Armor and stuff was way to easy to make and get the stuff for. Make it hard.

This demo was longer that Fable for Xbox. It was free and better and it an unfinished game. What do U think. What would U suggest? See U at the beta events!!!

    1. You can follow a friend by clicking his name and press the default action key (usualy space bar)

    2. press forward key twice to autorun...

    3. ALOT of players do use a shield :/ (or was that sarcastic cauz Ive not seen any 2handed swords)

    4. Tho it could be done on the radar but you can just hold ctrl key to see enemies in sight and click them

    5. Not really needed but /shrugs, maybe just some ranking, who was MvP etc etc

    6. Agree except I came across a really hard one in seven snakes lake (or whatever the name is), a lvl 24 drake-like who used a really nasty hp degeneration the monk could not keep healing

    7. Nearest target key IS on keyboard and can be changed ?

    10. ....I don't know how you did it but I played alot and found it really hard to make armors....may be you were just lucky to get the right items?

    And finally ye Im pre-ordering it, seems to be a good game when you want to do some fast action when you have little time.

    Some of the stuff, like Auto-Run, Auto-Follow and Nearest-Target --> it's already in the game :)

    I agree that bosses should be harder, but ideally not in a "standard" sense (standard stuff doesn't belong into GW ^_^), but make them need specific tactics. Specific ones!

    Also, you are correct, the content was slim -- OTOH, this was just the start of closed Beta, meaning that the actual game and engine is finished, and content-development is prime now.
    If they add some cool weapons, nice armor, dropped armor and crafted weapons (for now, we just have crafted armor and dropped weapons), and more missions, multiple mission-paths and all, I think I'll love this game from day1 of release!

    1. It wasn't listed anywhere that space bar would alow me to follow. I was trying things like "/f" to get it done. Very good to know now.

    2. had no idea that I could autorun. Looked for it everywhere. I guess that you normal MMO guys already know that stuff. Very good to know now

    3. I was a warrior and never saw another warrior not using a hammer. I guess I wasn't looking very close because I never saw "ALOT" of shields. I still would like to see dual weilding of swords. A sword in each hand would rock. The pictures show it.

    4. I used ctrl alot for finding enemies, but that gives you no idea when there are 20 of them on the sceen what one you are going for. If you could click on the radar you can pick out the closest.

    5. Not needed, Guild Wars isn't needed either, i guess if I had just bread and water I could live. I would like to see stats and rankings though

    6. I too played a couple hard guys in the snake lakes place. I was soloing @ lvl 20 and had no problem. I would have died but I pulled them over to those healing creatures and they attacked each other while I attacked the boss.

    7. I saw a next target button, but never a nearest target button.

    10. I was a warrior and for a lot of the armor all I needed was scales and iron. I got this stuff a lot. Made my own armor the first day. Also u can buy most of the stuff from the trader guy anyhow. I ended up with lots of gold so I don't think that would have been a problem either. Making swords would have been cool.

    Hope your playing next weekend.

    3. Well on the Final day I saw lots of crazy shields and Armor and Weapons.

    5. I belive a Ranksing System is a must as well as RTS like stats at the END of each PvP map.(ie when u die or there are no opponents left to fight)

    6. Well I had alot of diffuculties in the Wilds did that mission about 10 times before I moved on.

    7. Did you try taping C and not TAB or T?
    C = Closest TAB = Cycle T = ??? Seemed to Cycle as well...

    10. Did you do the Tutorial Mission and Follow all the Hints that appeared at the Top Right hand side of the screen?

    I also saw a lot of shield users. At one point, 4 out of the 5 teammates I was with were sword and board warriors. Some of the higher level caster types also seemed to alternate a +energy item and a shield in the offhand.

    There was also a Level 30 dragon named "Rotscale" surrounded by 4-6 drakes in one of the explorable areas. I agree most the bosses should be buffed a bit though. Usually the only times I had difficulty with bosses was when everyone in my group was specked for damage instead of effects. I'm hoping that during the monthly beta events, we'll see a better mix of skills used.

    Most of the action keys were in the keyboard setup which you could of course re-assign....

    When you hold ctrl you see ALL the enemies in sight even more than what your radar actually displays and when you click one of the enemies, his dot on the radar gets bigger/brighter so you can easily know where is it.

    I had the opposite experience.  As a monk I found cloth to be way too hard to get.  During the event I never got enought to make one piece of armor.  The necessary drops for Monk armor must be easier or it will take way to long to get necessary pieces.

    Guildwars.com has brief a manual online.

     http://www.guildwars.com/preview/guide/default.html

    most of the questions you have are answered there ... like targeting and auto run.

    I think they should've made the link to this manual more obvious. I didn't find it till yesterday and I also had serious issues with the targeting.

    'c' = nearest target

    TAB= toggle through targets

    f = nearest friend

    ----Sheields are nice as depending on their stats can eaily absorb 2-6 dmg per attack.  However with the addition of monk/caster items such as staves/wands that actually add to health regeneration - it's hard to say which is better.  I beleive they will improve sheilds all around to be more useful to a warrior than a magic stick.

    There are actually not many hammer warriors out there.  Most of the WPE'ers went hammer since the damage ranges on them were obviously higher - however SWORD and AXE have much deadlier skill combinations.  Just one of those things you kinda have to learn from experience.image

    These kinds of events are good and bad.  They are great to let people get a sneak peak ( and boost those pre-orders ) but most people do not understand that many many variables in the game have been altered to adjust to a 4 day crowd.  They couldn't make mission/MOBS/Bosses all that hard or else a good portion of the players would not have completed all the missions.  They actually increased item drops 2 fold so that you could get at least one set of armor if you worked at it....

    One thing that just doesn't seem to be understood as that this is NOT and MMO and does not claim to be.  THANK GOD.  Finally a breath of fresh air.  How many games do you know that are coming out that have long distance level caps - huge grind process - and yes... a huge world for you to explore....Hmmmmm...that's the same lineup of game aspects in every MMO from the last 5 years.  Anything going into any of the new games is crap that just makes sense and should have been there long ago - and then they charge you 1/3 of the purchase price per month to keep playing.

    Something to think about -

    ArenaNet can offer you the same depth of content ( which can change dramaticly any minute ) - still save 4 characters per account - offer instanced zones without lag on a SHARDLESS world ( aww... we can all play together now....) and breathtaking fantastical graphics -- while at the same time leveling the playing field by rewarding player skill over just who has more of a real life to kill and decreasing the grind effect that MMOs feed off of and yet --- WITH NO MONTHLY FEE --- EVER.

    Kinda sounds like all those other companies are running quite the nice scam - as they've convinced everyone that in order to provide a quality multiplayer game and run stable servers they need a monthly fee.

    ALPHA phase has been up and running over 2 years.  In that time servers have gone down 2 times - never longer that 15 minutes.  I've been in alpha 6 months - never seen the server crash or be down outside designated times when they were intentionally brought down.

    In retrospect - alot of people have been getting screwed on a monthly basis for a long time - and will continue to be taken advantage of until more games like GW comes out and people realized just how sore thier [ censored ] butts are.

    ...

    </rant>

    sry - I'm cranky + opinionated today...poor combo.

    I bet shields will be modified to either have a %-chance to bock projectile attacks and close-combat attacks, or block a %'age of damage alltogether...

    I don't agree with 5 and 10 suggestions.I saw a lot of shields.Read this guide http://www.guildwars.com/preview/guide/default.html , there is almost all what you need.

    I would like to see Dual-wielding too.It's nice idea , but there is no skills that are specialized on dual-wielding.

    Well...I hope developers will make it available in next expansion.

    Yeah , i think Dual Wealding is a nice Idea, but i have many suggestions  , some of them are rumors to be done image...

    1.The Guild Must have a treasure, where could put gold...and a guild could rob another guild

    2.The banners in the guild hall should be with the sign of the guild, not just red or blue

    3. Some of the powerfull guild could hold a control of a city in a District...to change the prices, to keep the city save from attacks and so on...

    4.It`ll be better if there are many quests in the explorable areas between the cities.

    5.The hammer must be made a litle bit faster....it`s too slow now image
