This post is intended to destroy FE with facts and nothing more or less. I shouldn't have wasted my hard earned money in this sorry excuse of a game... To all FE fans, I challenge you to remain factual while describing FE imaginary greatness.
- Dated graphics. Sorry... I mean very dated graphics! I couldn't find a single set of armor that would make me look half decent. To the designers of FE pants and avatars. Do not ever draw anything...
- Despite the horrible graphics, you still need a nuclear nanotech cell driven rig to run the game. Unacceptable when you consider we have games such as LOTRO or WOW... FE is a step backward.
- Character customization is horrible. It's so poor you feel compelled into slapping your face with all kind of tattoos and paints just so you can look different. Of course hoping someone else didn't slap the exact same kind of colors and tattoos on their face
) - You CANNOT level as a crafter only. To scavenge your raw material, you need to go out in the middle of some nasties. Consequently you must fight, kill and improve your weapon ability to go anywhere in this game.
- The game is level based and not sandbox. Sure you can distribute your AP(attribute points) as you wish, but the maximum points you can put in a skill is capped by your level (this rule must have been introduced by the designer of FE pants)
- FE game play is confined in bugged mission runs. You never know if you can finish a mission or get struck by a bug just when you are supposed to return for your reward.
- Community is made of fan boys trolling anyone criticizing the game
- Those who do not troll are virtually muted players running all over town. You end up wondering why these people play MMO.
- A vehicle based system with no physics. You may find yourself at 90°... you cannot fall off the ATV; you cannot jump ... Ohh speaking about jumping. Obviously the apocalyptic event must have altered the gravity. FE jumping is the worst I’ve ever had to see.
- Last but not least, most of the successful people in this game are chip buyers or farmers...
- I grew very tired of all the grieving going on since a mission sends everyone to the same exact non instanced spot ...
- The water... ohh my... The apocalyptic event made it so we can all walk over water but not swim in it. Anyone said polished?...

I really hope this game fails as it is a disgrace to the level and the standards WOW and LOTRO are trying to establish.

The ragdoll physics are laughable
The combat system is too clunky and due to the lag in some areas its impossible to aim at anything

The Sandworms crack me up the most - they move at like 100 MPH lol

You say you wanted the FE fanboys to be factual they why did you list 10 bull**** reasons that are pretty much untrue minus the only leveling as a crafter. Man honestly if your gonna flame a game at least make the flaming unbiased and factual yourself.

LOTRO has nothing worry about from FE. FE wont steal away all lotro subs. SO go play your furry midgets err "hobbits" now run along little one

personally, my main issue with the game, which I'm really close to subbing after the halloween trial thing, is the harvesting/crafting. I'm not a crafter in most games, not my thing, but in FE you almost need to raise a few of the crafts. With one server, and it being a free trial time, I'll be damned if I can harvest enough nodes with everyone running around the n00b towns working on the same things I am. :P
Which, to me, makes it look like the game'll be around for awhile if even 1/10 of the people on the trial fully sub (and to the other 90%...get away from my damned nodes :P)
You know what makes me laugh about this whole thing is that Darkfall did the same thing with the haters.
I swore to myself since the begining of the games inception I wouldnt buy it. After tons of flame hating threads I went and bought it for myself. I know Im not alone in this.
All this does is help the company make more money. Which is cool to me cause I like the game.
Your gear actually gets pretty cool, lots of options and it is 3d-ish, unlike WoW where it "sticks" to your body most of the time. Except maybe shoulders.
I assume you played till about level 5 if you even got that far and based the game on that.
As for comparing it to WoW and Lotr, that is just silly. Really? You compare every game to them?
The graphics for fallen earth aren't horrible, but they aren't crysis either.
It is a nitch game, you will like it or hate it, but it is sad when you make a new mmorpg name just to rag on a game so people don't put your "real" mmorpg name down.

never understood why people go outta their way to bash a game. Everyone has different tastes that is why there rare just so many games out their.
1. They actually don't look that bad. They just didn't go x10 on the bloom filters to make it all pretty.
2. I'm sorry but what kind of rig are you running? I have seen nearly everyone run this at 30-60FPS at acceptable settings. Except in towns.
3. It's nothing special. There is a pretty huge variation of paints, piercings, and tattoos though. Which is where I think a lot of the time went. Personally I just went with no paint, piercings, or tattoos and a natural hair color. I'm sure I'll find no one like me.
4. Yes you can level as a crafter. Unless by crafter you mean standing in a workshop buying things and selling things while hitting "craft" over and over. Of course you have to go out, find the node, and use it. You don't have to quest or really kill much of anything. I think your definition of "Dedicated Crafter" is a bit.... anal.
5. Yes, it has levels. The levels are more or less a generalization of your AP though, and capping your skills so you can't just pump up two skills and go blow through all of the PvE content. Yes, it is restricted like a themepark in that respect.
6.I have yet to find a bugged mission. I'm not sure why people are complaining that there's SO many.
7.Yep, the community is in fact made of players who like the game they pay for and defend it. Sorry.
8. Because they don't want to talk to people who are total asses probably.
9. What MMORPG has physics based driving? I mean, come on. So me an MMO where you can fall off your mount without it being from attacks.
10. I have yet to see chip farmers/sellers, hence no chip buyers. The game's design just doesn't really support it.

I really didnt want to step in and defend this game, so ill make this short....
1: you speak of dated graphics and then mention wow as the standard...i dont even know what to say but lol.
2: character customisation is not AoC or Aion...but it surely beats both Lotro and WoW in options...baffled again by the comparison.
the reason you need a proper rig to run is quite simple. its one massive world..
Bugged mission runs? its a 30 days old game and i havent yet had a bugged mission.

when swg launched it was a bugridden mess of "insert name here" but still gave
people, including me, some of their fondest game memories ever. yes, i did just compare swg to FE, i fell a resemblance, i cant name it, sorry.
so i suggest you go get a proper rig, give the game a fair try and then you can come here and call it whatever you want, bit it will be valid, instead of that troll post you just made...and i cant believe i answered it

OP has no idea what they're talking about in terms of the history and development of MMOs. I am glad there are developers out there not following those supposed standards.
Graphics are not at the same level as Fallout 3 and that game truly made me believe I was in a post-apocalypse world. I am a bit let down by the color palette and older graphics of FE but it does not make the game unplayable. I have a four year old machine with a 9400GT graphics card and I can run this game with shadows turned on and most graphic settings on high. Sure, not the greatest FPS, but the game still runs fine for me.
1. The graphics ar ok. Not the best, but good. 2. Character customization is so much better than alot of other games out there (NCsoft has the best). 3. Not sure why your complaining about skill cap lvls when the Darkfall players are calling for this too. 4. Ive never encountered a bugged mission. 5. If your refering to this forums coimmunity then you get what you get but the ingame community and Gm's are awesome. 6. Can you describe your grieving on missions please?
Look dude you cant please everyone with everything. I dont like many aspects of it either, but this is a a damn good game, not a great one. Some of what you post above are unjustified critisisms.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. He challenges the fans to counter any of his points, and every one of them is either an exaggeration, personal opinion, a nit-pick, or flat out BS. I've gone ahead and addressed each in my post here.
Also it's always funny how often these bashing posts are started by 1st time posters and, on top of that, always seem to come in groups of 2 or more within a short time span. Not only with FE, but with any MMO. Certainly makes you wonder.

( I do agree with this although I run at slightly lower that minimum specs and it run ok for me but probably at epic fail FPS by some peoples standards)

) ( I agree with this one. The customization should not be boasted about. I understand the not giving many clothing options, but the character gen needs an update to the tattoo portion. It is nice that we have the option at all though.)

It's EXTREMELY slow but you CAN do it. The only way to do it though is to have a very tight knit group of people you trust and talk to in game all the time. My friends bring me the mats for the stuff they want. I craft it. I get xp. They get their item. Its the heart of what being a crafter should be. Barter and trade. Actually this topic is covered in one of the dev interviews also. When I watched it. It challenged me to level with crafting. )

Souds pretty realistic to me. I can't jump an ATV.) ... Ohh speaking about jumping. Obviously the apocalyptic event must have altered the gravity. FE jumping is the worst I’ve ever had to see. ( I will agree with this whole statement overall. The only thing is that this is the same thing in SWG. You can be killed while riding your mount or have your mount killed while riding it. I thought this was absolutely hilarious the first time I rode past a pvp zone and a lvl 40 sniped my atv out from under me. )
Last but not least, most of the successful people in this game are gold buyers or farmers... (Even if this were true, what would make this different from any other game out there? There are some games that profit from people buying in game items for cash)

This game should not be compared with those games purley that they have corporate backing, are in the fantasy realm and have a linear "hold your hand" gameplay. The gameplay in fallen earth is not for everyone. I did not flame WoW, LotRO or SWG when I left. I just left. I will never look back.)
Heh. The OP opinion is very inaccurate. Most of his reasons are biased and sounds like they are untested for more then 15 minutes of actual gameplay.
I will be honest and say I DID NOT like the game for my first 15 minutes after the tutorial, but soon changed my mind after playing for now 5 days straight of my my 14 day free trial (TY MMORPG.com). Having played a lot of other MMOs never before have I felt the way I have about this game then I have about an MMO for a long time. The game has an original feel to it, and YES the game is sandbox no matter what people are saying. I have pretty much just ran around in low level areas and kill low level mobs and gained resources for crafting the entire time so far....AND I HATE CRAFTING. For some reason in this game it doesn't bother me, but instead I cannot get enough of it. I have not progressed pass a mob level 6+ yet and I'm almost level 10 ( not really that high, but for what I've done not to bad ).
As stated by the developers this is an in between of sandbox and theme park. I have just grinded on mobs and harvest nodes all day long and completely lost track of time, or you can actually go from town to town, quest and level up like any normal MMO....your choice.
Graphics are...not a step forward, but are no where near unattractive by far. The "you need the best machine" idea is false. They have a memory leak issue with certain people and machines, but like a few MMOs these days that's actually common (AoC had it at launch and now I run it fine on my older machine). If I'm away from towns I can have the graphics maxed and run around the wilderness at around 60+ FPS and play fine.
Anywho...kinda a half assed accessment of the game, but I hate seeing these for a game, for the most part, is original, fun, and seem to be getting better community reviews and support then the much more flashier and higher budget Aion is getting. The developers have some great ideas in store for the game and with such a great community I can see this game lasting the long run. Kinda reminds me of Anarchy Online minus the horrible launch. Both original, have a smaller dedicated community, and for the most part sandbox and open world (AO world was seperated by zones which still connected and continued the other instance making it as open as it could be)

1) Graphics are WAY above average for MMO's on the market. I suggest you spend some more hard earned money on some hardware upgrades to enjoy them.

3) While I agree somewhat that this area needs some love the sheer amount of items in the game creates very unique characters. All armor types have different models and I challenge you to find 2 toons that look alike after level 5.
4) Why would you want to level as crafting only? I have not played many games that even offer exp for crafting items. /shrug
5) No its not complete sandbox. It is a hybrid. Where do you see the developers claiming it was meant to be a sandbox? I did not know this was the 11th commandment written in stone.
6) I have completed about 2-3 hundred missions and not found this problem yet. I am not calling you a liar but something smells fishy here and I dont think its my girlfriend.
7) Thats a stereotype. Don't be a troll. I only criticize people that fromt their posts havent spent more than an hour playing. For example this post right here.
8) I agree somewhat on this topic. Group play is not as large in this game as others. I would like to see more of it myself.
9) The vehicle physics do have an issue. Gamebreaking - not so much. Will they be worked out? Chances are yes. The jumping physics are working as intended and are meant to prevent FPS jump shooting and other unrealistic exploitative issues.
10) I am sure you can prove this.../cough. But in all reality since you are stating this you must not have a lot of mmo experience since all mmos I know of have some issues with gold sellers. The reality is the GM's in this game are VERY active currently. Botters are tolerated here less then other places I have been.
11) I am trying hard not to insult you on this one. It is a challenge for me let me tell ya. If you want instanced I would suggest playing the other 99% of mmos out there. I for one find non instanced sexy even if I do have to be OH so Horribly inconvenienced on the occasion someone else has the same mission. Perhaps you can, I don't know, ask that person to team with you.
