I think this 1.3.2 Patch is the best patch since launch. Which many people will agree on. Why did it take so long for them to have it be like this. Ask GOD. Even I don't know why it took them to realize Performance is the issue from the start. Polishing the character classes should be the next agenda on recuperating a MMO that should have class balance in a way for Even Play. Over Powered Classes should be equally buffed or something cause right now Destruction is ruling on all Servers. Example is the Ravage Attack Chosens have which Knights of the Blazing Sun don't even have. The Shadow Warriors still need some major Buffs compared to its Squig Herder Counterpart which is so Overpowered compared to the Shadow Warriors. Atleast make the Shadow Warriors stronger in a way Squig Herders are not. Squig Herders got a longer range than Shadow Warriors. What happened to the Warrior Priest? Dual Wielded Disciple of Khaines in which Warrior Priest can only dual wield a book and hammer? Atleast give the Warrior Priest a option to wield a Flail!!!! I can keep running on how Overpowered Destruction Characters got and keep going but nahhhh. I know I will try to get shot down for this one. But yeah "EVEN THE CLASSES OUT IN OTHER WORDS"........

I am sorry, but what have they actually fixed?
As far as I know, there is no single server anymore that has enough population to even have largescale RvR going, to lag you to death or disconnect.
So if you don't experience any lag nor disconnects during PVP anymore. Well, probably because there aren't many people around anymore.
Cheers
While I do hope they fixed the lag, you really haven't played against a warrior priest, have you?
Playing: World Of Warcraft

there ARE large battles in Empire vs Chaos pairing.
IMHO performance is still not in acceptable levels.wont be a sideshow in some cases but your FPS will be in teens.
3 things, I love WAR, I see it as the best PvP game of all time. However, population is diminishing quickly, more and more everyday, I have a 6 month sub, 3 months in and SCs take hours to pop, and WBs are slow, along with Altdorf constaly under seige. This game is great, just it is bleeding badly. I think this is a case of too little too late.
I never had any issues with the game or been bothered by the bugs, but the population is the main issue.
Secondly, Shadow hunter is in a league of its own, as is Maurader(sp?) Squig herders counter part is White Lions.
Thirdly, balance I don't think I have ever noticed any issues with, this game is meant to be played as a team, not solo. And thus balance is there.
In closing, great game but unless people return and soon, I fear EA will pull the plug. Mythic will have little to no say, EA paid for development costs and marketing, and still covers hosting. They can and will pull the plug if this game does not recover soon. I hate saying this, I have defended it, but over the last two months it has gone downhill worse and worse. A few months back we had 900 online on each side now we are lucky to peak 500, the old server I was on is now low pop. My new med server is now dying as well. I hope only the best, but I will tell you how it is.

Hafta say, free tier 1 makes me want to download it just to do that for a long time.
And soon with the 'endless free trial' they are going to implement you *can* and you'll never have to pay them a dime for it ^^
Although they've said they're going to look into twinking concerns so there may be some sort of limit on the trial beyond just being restricted to T1.
on eu servers the only 2 are worth playing are
norn and azgal
ORVR in every tier. sometimes some lagg spikes..
but the war is still on!!
You are are talking about network latency or low fps? Low fps is fixed now especially if you swap out some default ui elements away and disable some.
Network lag seems to be bad for some but after they did something to the euro servers it is mostly gone as well.
Great game now, try it out and you won't be disappointed - unless you are one of those weirdos that enjoy static pve experience.
All tiers are well populated on Azgal and Norn at least, great battles.
I left this game months ago, I don't understand whats the big change?
Playing Darkfall EU1 Server
Depending on tier you were fighting, all of the game elements has been touched and new content has been added.
They explain the recent (1.3.2) changes here quite nicely: http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=945
Try out the trial or if you can afford to dish out 1 month sub it's definitely worth a shot now.
Still cant see any reason to come back. Just seems like small changes.

So instead of fixing it, they now completely removed Fortresses from the game! That is even worse than I thought it was. /sigh
Maybe next time? I liked WAR, never had a problem with it, but when your entire guild just gets up and leaves within 20 days, there's something wrong. Too little to late. And lastly, why do I have to give a CC to play a trial? seriously, I just got a 21 day free trial for EVE and I did not have to give a CC.

Fortresses were a pain in the ass, while the altdorf / ic defenses aint fun either they are going in the right direction - unless you have unbalanced populations on the server (or just more casual/unemployed people on the other side).
Underdog system is being brought in 1.3.3 apparently and some they will bring the number of sieges to capitals bit down.
Core element is still rvr so if you enjoy it, you will not be disappointed in that sense - endgame is still bit of a mess in the capitals.

The reason they were a pain in the ass, was because of sertain exploits and the horrible performance (constant crashes and DC's).
So instead of trying to fix what is broken, they now start removing entire features from the game and dumbing it down even more then the game already is.
I hardly call that improvements to the game.
RvR is still broken and always will, if they don't fix the core of the problem. Wich is that their game engine cannot handle many players on the map without either the client dying or the server itself dying.
That was the sole reason why pretty much everyone quit within the first months and why they won't come back.
The whole Game Engine is just utter crap! We all know it! And it won't be fixed!
There aren't enough people around anymore for them spending the needed resources to fix their Game Engine.
Hence, they didn't even the past year, when they actually still had a decent amount of subs and money coming in.
Cheers

It's your point of view that fortresses were great, they were mainly a hindrance and stupid element because people didn't bother to even try the fortresses anymore as the risk vs. reward was too little - they are bringing back the fortresses in some form or another but they wont be tied to the progress anymore and as I understand they're trying to make the whole rvr more dynamic - but it will be somewhat long progress but they understand the issue now.
Game engine performance is excellent now, have you played it recently (1.3.2) so the core (game engine) is now in very good shape, don't believe? Look at these videos then:
www.youtube.com/watch
www.youtube.com/watch
Rofl bouncing back I don't think so half of the severs have Altdorf permanently locked with large numbers of order leaving the game.
I find it interesting in how everybody says this game or that game is bleeding numbers. Every single mmo forum I have visited says the same thing, warhammer is bleeding, aion is bleeding, aoc is bleeding, wow is bleeding, where are all of the people going to then? Quiting video games for good?
Well, seriously... WAR has bled plenty ^^
Can't speak for AoC /Aion but *clearly* during most of the time they said WoW was bleeding it was more than compensating for it (though possibly not in the same continent).
Every game bleeds players. I think the bleeding that matters though is the one where the bleed outdoes the influx of players, something WAR has clearly suffered from quite severely after their release, although it could have stabilized by now (hmm, although i get the feeling there's still a slow bleed but the current influx from the performance patch is compensating for it)

I well I understand the population has declined a lot, I'm not disputing that. I was just making a general comment. Every game seems to lose population, and if that is true where do the people go? Some game out there must gaining subs...right?
After my disappointment in Aion I am pretty much done with MMO's for now. I actually thought Warhammer was pretty fun but I gather I'm in the minority in that thinking.
In a way, you pretty much answered your own question. MMO's are bleeing players, so what could that mean? Obviously they just got sick of mmo's in general, and have left for either console games, or something un-related to video games entirely.
Mythic got what they deserved.
They had practically their entire playerbase asking for a sequel to DAOC and what did they do? They were going to create Imperator Online. Then when Jacobs and Co. realized that would be an epic failure, while viewing the success of WoW, they decided to ride the coattails of Blizzard instead of innovating, and they got the IP for Warhammer.
Then they hyped up the game for several years, feeding us with lies and empty promises. WAR was going to be this and that... the greatest RvR game ever!
And they gave us a piece of crap.
Performance sucked. Classes were shallow and unbalanced. Content was easy and boring. RvR, what their game was built around, was totally lame.
If Mythic ever decides to go back to their roots instead of trying to mimic another developer, then I might buy one of their games. Until then though... not even interested... I just clicked on this thread because it was on the front page.
Maybe Mark Jacobs and Brad McQuaid will team up and create the best mmo ever created in the history of the world. I'm sure that's what they'd like us to believe, anyway.
LOL War has a long way to go before it bounces back, sever stability beiong number one issue. Fix the crafting, don't make the PvE to easy, fix the higher end PvP content and a host of other smaller issues that abound.
