Join the forums and communicate with BLUEHOLE. They are really dedicated in bringing a next generation experience with T.E.R.A., and are in constant contact with the western player base. They post regularly about updates they have made based off player feedback, and hold discussions every two weeks on specific subjects.
The game apparently will not feature any of the grind typically found in most eastern games. They even adjusted leveling speed during FGT (Focused Group Testing), in order to speed up the process even more, and will continue to listen to player concerns and apply them to the development of the game.

In other news, I dont think L2 is a bad game because t's korean. In fact i think if there was a new server launched free of bots and with, maybe a bit of an xp gain boost, it'd be a good game.
I like the castle sieges and the branching class trees. It's not perfect but hey.

but the game as the publisher made it is pretty good... if the L2 makers are making this game i'll certainly keep my eye on it.

Uh, we all know people said the same thing about Aion, and Aion has absolutely no grind. Also, it's bot-free, runs like a baby's bottom, has the best PvE, PvP and PvPvE ever, and also has girls with nice boobies. TERA will be the same, except even better. Uh, we all know people said the same thing about Aion, and Aion has absolutely no grind. Also, it's bot-free, runs like a baby's bottom, has the best PvE, PvP and PvPvE ever, and also has girls with nice boobies. TERA will be the same, except even better. No grind are you kidding me? At level 23-24 in Aion you run out of quests and all you can do is grind monsters to level. Up until then it was fine, plenty of quests etc.

It's fairly obvious that you have no experienced of either if you think that identifying a trend that is back-up by substantial evidence is somehow bigotted.
And secondly, you're automatically imposing your values on Asian people who clearly prefer games featuring grind. Here's your logic:

looks like a fights about to start. Yea, One can say that Korean games are a bit grindy. I dont think it will matter as much in TERA though. The combat system is like an action game. You only complain about grinding because its too boring in a lOme point - click - 1-2-5-3-1 -w -A- w. You get what im sayin. By the way there has been news of TERA team possibly lowering experiance needed to gain a lvl.

As for TERA, the graphics do look fantastic and tbh I don't care if its a grind, what I care about is how in depth it will be. How customizable will my char be, can I play the same class in a multitude of ways. Is there a 1/2 decent rewarding crafting system ?
Combat looks really good, but without some depth to it ill give it a pass. If there is a English beta later I will absolutely want to take part. I didn't enjoy AION much, a lot of flash very little substance. The moment my char fell in a pool of water and promptly died I was out, but I'm not ready to dismiss all eastern MMO's just yet, who knows this one may just be what some of us are looking for, no way to tell till we can actually get in and beta test the hell out of it.

I came to the forum page of this game wondering why it was #1 for the day, but this post is my #1 favorite of the day. To me it is total poetic pwnage of the highest caliber! I hadn't looked at this game until today, it looks interesting but this post is totally spot on. It's a simply history lesson, every other Korean game (and a majority of Asian games) have been total grinders. I am personally no good at debate and rarely enjoy forum bickering, but this is an actual good and thought out response. You sir have done a wonderful job and even if my stamp of approval means nothing, you still get it! *STAMP*
Having been to Asia I can say that the Asian way of thinking differs from ours. Personally, I don't like Korean games at all and don't plan on wasting another dime on one.

3. Now Korean people like grinders and don't care that Westerners don't. But they also understand they're entitled to their opinion and as yet, no-one has a monopoly over the 'correct' opinion. You can't reconcile this though when someone else identifies it because you've already decided that grinders are only played by stupid people.

I came to the forum page of this game wondering why it was #1 for the day, but this post is my #1 favorite of the day. To me it is total poetic pwnage of the highest caliber! I hadn't looked at this game until today, it looks interesting but this post is totally spot on. It's a simply history lesson, every other Korean game (and a majority of Asian games) have been total grinders. I am personally no good at debate and rarely enjoy forum bickering, but this is an actual good and thought out response. You sir have done a wonderful job and even if my stamp of approval means nothing, you still get it! *STAMP*
Having been to Asia I can say that the Asian way of thinking differs from ours. Personally, I don't like Korean games at all and don't plan on wasting another dime on one.
Even if the game will have grinding, it will be easier to take it, since it's action based.
You can't really judge it as an asian grinder just because it's korean and most korean games are grinders.
Maybe they wanna do something new.
