A few threads have been posted asking why people have left wow, or what would it take to bring you back with good responses on both the positive and negative sides of each.
My question is more towards Gear and how it resets with each and every expac that comes out.
Would an heirloom type enchant ( gem, enchant, etc ) that you could apply to one of your items ( sword, armor piece, wand, bow, etc ) keep you more involved in the content?
ie. If you could earn this heirloom piece and apply it to your items to have them scale forward with you, would you continue to follow the content and worry less about your gear.

Well the current system is fine, we get an xpac every 18months or so. Gear carries over well to the new content, but is often over exagrrated, if you entered outlands in T3 as I did you wont be replacing much untill mid to late 70's, and the same with Wrath.
Its a fuss about nothing.
But then if we allow players to carry their gear over and somhow scale it then they be complaining about having the same gear and not feeling rewarded enough by doing content.
