Cuz people who like MMORPGs might be more inclined to try RPGs than say an FPS player... maybe...

same reason alot of temp bannings and infractions when Darkfall launched and ppl hated on it.....mmorpg's getting nice sized cheques in the mail from the company for advertising and forum policing :P
Grouping in Old school mmo's: meeting someone at the bar and chatting, getting to know them before jumping into bed. Current mmo's grouping: tinder. swipe, hookup, hope you don't get herpes, never see them again.
Adveretisements help pay the bills here. I really dont care what they advertise here as long as the site stays up. They could advertise fetus soap and I would be fine with it.
Yes, I'm sure lots of members here are interested in RPGs. However in the five + years I've been visiting this site, I think this is the first non-MMO game advertisement I've seen here.

I seem to recall earlier this year there was a month or two solid of ads for a fps that was all about shooting the other players in the balls, atleast from what the first year marketing student made ads showed.

Not true.
There have been ads for 4th edition D&D pen and paper game on here, and that is not even a computer game.
At least it's a game ad and not an ad for viagra or someother irrelevent crap. I personally don't have a problem with it and will consider playing the game.

Again, I would be fine with ads for fetus soap. Viagra might be a bit much, but fetus soap is fine
Guild Wars isn't imo either yet we have that pos game plastered all over the forums as well.(yea I know it can be called one I just loathe it bad enough to say it isnt).

Even though it's not an MMO, after having played it for a few hours (They flew by I might add) I can say (in my honest and humble opinion) that it beats the crap out of any MMO I've had the "pleasure" of playing so far.
Instantly reminded me why I always thought Bioware kicks behinds.

This site is called MMORPG. People visit this site because they enjoy MMORPG's, the RPG stands for Role Playing Game. Dragon Age: Origins is a RPG. Although it may not be a MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game its still a RPG. A lot of people at this site enjoy playing RPG's there for Bioware decided that it was worth the financial investment to advertise at this site to increase sales.
The demographics for MMOs are largly the same as they are for video games in general. The advertisement makes sense. Most MMO gamers play stand alone games too.

Most single player RPGs that are well done beat the crap out of any MMO to be honest. Compare 50 hours of the best RPG and 50 hrs of the best MMOs, and there really is no comparison when it comes to story, gameplay, and characters. The only thing MMOs have are the people, but it won't be long until we can just co-op an RPG like Dragon Age.
jonnychangs, I had the same question. I've been noticing a lot of that going around lately. I just was browsing mlb.com and there were ads for Bank of America, Captain Morgan and VISA. I was like.... WTF???

Because a service that MMORPG.com allows to advertise on this site has, as one of their customers Dragonage.
Since it is a video game and this is a video game site, it stands to reason that there might be players who couuld be interested.
Godfred's Tomb Trailer: https://youtu.be/-nsXGddj_4w
Original Skyrim: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/109547
Serph toze kindly has started a walk-through. https://youtu.be/UIelCK-lldo
The same reason any advertisement is on the site, they get paid money.
It's not an MMO? Oh noes.
Damn.... I couldn't tell by reading the box or going to the game's site...
The reason there are ads for it here is that Bioware or the game's distrubutors have paid MMORPG.COM for advertising space.
Of course, those who play fantasy MMO's NEVER play fantasy single-player games. Nope... never...

Because MMORPG perhaps wanted to advertise a good game for a change? Better than seeing winged ballerinas everywhere.
There are also ads for Torchlight, which is also a good game, and also *gasp* not an MMO.
