How many years should people be expected to sit around waiting for a game to get good?  Please, tell us when it is ok to give up on a game, because you seem to know the answer, so enlighten us.

Warhammers first anniversary came and went with all the fanfaire of a fart and the net result is that "there is still plenty of room for expansion and improvement".  Well no shit?  That is the reason people left the game in the first place and now mythic is about 1/3 the size of what they started with.  Sorry friend, things are not going to get better for warhammer.  The second year is not going to come anywhere close to what the first year delivered and the first year wasn't enough to resolve the games issues.

I'm have grown very tired of the merry-go round of developers rushing unfinished games to market just to watch them crash and burn.  Even more tired of hearing people like yourself blame everyone else for not rushing with their wallets wide open to save some company from their own mistakes.

    This.

Game developers have gotten progressively lazier over the years.  Either that, or they're relying on the fanbois to generate enough "buzz" about their game that they'll be able to recoup the development costs and scurry back into their hidey-holes where they start planning out their next little foray into the MMO market.

Stop blaming the players for the crappy games.  If you like a game, good.  Go play it.  If you've played it and don't like it, then come here and tell people why.  That's why these sites exist in the first place.  It's called "feedback".  Sometimes it's postive, sometimes it's negative.

You missed the main reason to blame players. They do keep paying off developers of crap/unfinished/buggy games so more game companies keep rushing a launch knowing that players will pay them while they work on finishing the game over then next 1-2 years. I do blame players for that. I thought the article speak with your wallet was dead on, players complain but then they pay the company anyways which never changes anything.

War was so bad at launch that I relate it to Vanguard, no matter how many people show up over the years saying "This game is all fixed now and it's amazing!!!" I will never in my life try either game again. MMOs have one shot with me, if I try it and it is full of bugs and balance issues then I am gone and won't be back once it is working properly, they had their chance.

Not surprised its happening. Way too many races are seperated on the servers with too few players. Worst use of an IP ive ever seen in an MMO.

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

Well, I don't like themeparks but I loved WAR since CB. The best PvP game ever, for me, and the funniest at the same time. It's a High Quality game that will be alive for long as many people is coming to WAR.

Your Man from The Euroland news: EU Karak-Norn is crowded. Yes, crowded.

It is considered to be by the shareholders... They get all warm and fuzzy when the phrase "cutting expenses" is used.  Its an unfortunate reality that one has to deal with.  Of course, most(if not all) of those lay offs are among those down in the trenches doing the daily work.  Heaven forbid that some of the executive types that made bad decisions would end up out on the street.

I have heard that Jeff Hickman finally got the axe. About time. He should have been gone with Jacobs.

the game isn't dying in any sense. Yes EA laid off 1/3 of mythic. Why you ask? Cause EA as a whole is losing money because half of the games they force the developers to release early are crap and end up selling poorly. They need to learn you can't penny pinch games. WAR right now is a great game and most of what turned people off has been fixed. T4 still needs some work but the rest of the game is more than enough to keep your attention for a month or two.

Well, we said pretty much the same thing with Asherons Call2(right after the expansion) and Earth and Beyond. We all know what happened then. I hope EA doesn't axe War, but it wouldn't be the first time they've done something like that. But they certainly wouldn't tell anyone about it before hand.

After that month or two - what then?

War is dying because it's not a good game.   And yes war is dying: i took a sub and servers are empty.

I took a sub this month and the servers are empty. Played alone, only last part (T4) is living. No PQ no open RvR, no BG from level1 to 30. It's  a disaster. I have a 28 and i must play on T4 ... It's very hard to fight against levl 40 RR40 with a Lvl28, but i have no other choice. It will be my last month on Warhammer.

Coming back to Lotro. I don't like Aion, so i have no PvP game FTM.

You probably joined an empty server, I am in Karak-norn and it's pretty active. And for everyone else, uk.gamespot.com/news/6239416.html It's not Warhammer online, it's EA, they're doing dire financially as a company. WAR isn't doing brilliant, it's doing ok and it most certainly is not a bad game. So perhaps when we recover from this global recession, EA will get back on track overall. WAR is doing bad atm, imo it is not dying, but even if it is dying, it's definitely not a bad game, right now I'm in a bloody good guild and I'm loving the SCs, and I'm only lvl 20 atm.

    Ecoutez! :D @Monsieur MacLinux:

If you wish to find a lot of people just switch to Karak-Norn, of course if you like the game enough to rerroll a character. Don't throw the towel so early & so easy. In there I wander and can tell that if has not only population but a lot of it. Crowded is the word. If not, have a good time with LoTRo - another one among the best -.

KN is one of the LAST servers where an european gamer can play. I start a reroll on KN but 90% of servers are dead, only playable on T4. I won't pay months and months for a dying game i'm sorry

War works fine on Mac os X, that's why I took a sub. I'll play this month on KN then BYE war, poor copy of Wow.

I got my hands on it in beta just before it launched, and it seemed like a pretty decent game.  I like the witch hunter class.

I can't speak to the upper tier content, though.  I think I may have made it to lower 2nd tier at best.

It doesn't look good that it's reselling NIB at Amazon for about 4 bucks.  Or worse; even at that price, I'm still not compelled to buy it.

Seems like nowadays, MMO's are drawing heavy box sales, but they just aren't keeping the players playing.
