Is EQ2 by the same people who created SWG?

Is Everquest 2 created, handled, developped and/or moderated by the same people in Star Wars Galaxies?

    In a word, yes.

it is being done by SOE which does galaxies as well as EQ Live. I doubt that it's the exact same people but it is defintly the same company.

Same company, completely different development teams. Not even in the same building if I remember correctly from my trip out there.

Unfortunatly, yes. I thought about this myself, after fearing what SWG traits would pass into EQ2 becuase of the SOE relation.

Luckily, however, SWG shares the same executives in charge of decisions, BUT EQ2 has an entirely different  development crew. Lots of people who played SWG passed it off as a MMORPG made by MMORPG programmer noobs working in a MMORPG sweat shop. The game turned out to be a sack of crap.

The EverQuest2 team in charge of the actual development are very experienced, and in my opinion, the best people for the job.

The Developers: Give you everything you want in a game

The Executives: Are interested in money, and will demand a speedy release casuing unstable servers and a slightly unfinished game.

This is just from my experience. What do you think? image

technically SWG is handled by Lucas Arts. SOE just developed it, they have to put in what Lucas Arts wants, follow thier rules, etc. so, in my eyes i dont blame SOE for SWG at all. they did a great job on the graphics and stuff, i blame Lucas Arts for turning the game into crap.

I agree. Also, any developments SOE want to addin, has to go through the lengthy process of being sent to lucasarts, which can take months, which slows everything down, which is ridiculous, having to ask a dam film company about even the slightest change to game, that should take 5 minutes could end up taking 5 weeks..

    no

SWG was under the watchful eye of Lucasarts

Plus EQ2 has an entire different team of programmers, gamemasters, community managers, etc.

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
