Yes, its slower than most games if u solo mobs in Allods, but is that really a such a terrible thing? If you duo NORMAL mobs in Allods its around the time it takes in other MMO games.
Again, I never said it was a bad thing I was just stating my opinion. I'm not going to start arguing over it. It could be just the classes we chose were slow but I'm not saying the game was bad in anyway. I was glad to see it wasn't just another WoW clone and that's the reason I gave it a chance. I may give it another shot with a different class but I'm not saying the game sucks because of this at all it was just a slight turn off for me that's all.
The game has promise. The lighting/sky is amazing. I wish they would have designed the elves/orcs to be a little more unique. It would have kept the "looks like wow" feel at bay as the rest of the game does look unique in its own right, but the orcs are really too similar. Visually, it's pretty cool.
The plans for ship to ship battle and such sound cool as long as they work out well. Who knows if it's going to be crappy or if the community will ruin it themselves by finding a "I win" scenario and exploiting the hell out of it like they usually do with anything RvR/PvP related, but then again it's partially the devs fault for allowing it to go on.
The biggest concern is of course the item shop. The biggest bait and switch in F2P MMOs is making you invest a ton of time in your character, and then after a certain point ramping the rest of the game up such that you're required to spend tons in the shop just to keep playing. In some cases the greedier ones will adjust entire portions of the game to make them "require" item shop items. This is a particularly large fear for me with this game since Gpotato is involved and they have a .....colorful...history with basically extorting people and playing games with the item shop. I don't trust them to run it properly.
Sadly this is the issue with all F2P games. You have to put faith in the publisher to play fairly, and when money is involved, that's usually never the case.
As a side note: I actually don't mind the TTK in the game at all. Having the battles last longer actually makes it feel like a bit of a "battle" rather than you horribly squishing everything in your path in one or two hits and then grinding out the next one.
I don't have a huge problem with the TTK in Allods but something feels really random about how long it does take to kill mobs. Even a mob of the exact same type/level will randomly take 3 times as long to kill or sometimes it seems like they almost instantly die. I almost think it was some type of lag I was seeing except that the rest of the game ran flawlessly. Anyone else notice something similar to this?
