Not one issue with Dragon Age here.

But is all this doomsaying from the same Vesavius who was so big on "faith in developers to come through" when talking about Acclaim? How you could have faith in Acclaim with their past, especially after the game we were playing at the time was already launched and all the issues? But yet you still had faith in Acclaim but doubt Bioware?

    Are you serious?

While I do have to say that I don't know how well they will do making an mmo since they always have just been single player games makers. With that said though I have a great amount of faith in their team, and them being able to put out a good product. Still not sure if I will be playing the game, but it is still on list of mmos I am looking forward to.

It's actually kind of scary.  *Hears Twilight Zone music in the background*

Heh... given the replies to your OP, if you can't get a majority of posters on THIS forum to gripe along with you, I call that a pretty successful launch.

I had some loading screen problems too. for instance, after a long sitting, the loading screens seemed to get longer and longer, I saved and exited and it fixed the problem.

We all seem to agree that the OP isn't so smart, there is hope for world peace yet!

Biowares track  record of incredible RPGs over the past 10 years is all the street cred they need for an MMO. In the gaming tyrant world you got blizzard and you got bioware. It's oranges and apples between the 2 imo.

KoTOR2 was, hands-down, the best single player RPG of this decade and it was only published by bioware, not developed.

Please tell me your joking? KOTOR2 was a pile compared to one and about 3x as easy.  Epic levels+Jedi=GOD MODE.  Of the decade?  Did you play BG2....

Even if a great percentage of people were having issues with Dragon Age, which I don't see evidence of, you'd have to note that The Old Republic is being developed by an entirely different team within the company, as is Mass Effect 2.

fyi, a fix for the issue in the fade (I presume you mean after the individual is saved from the nightmare) is to just wait a few seconds. maybe even move around a bit. Then the next dialogue should start. It's annoying but you don't have to wade through the dialogue again.

    This must be a record....

And yeah, no trouble with DA:O here either.

I forgot BG2 released in '00. But I still enjoyed KoTOR2 more than any rpg. Maybe next time put the game on a higher difficulty?

Their biggest chance of failure lies where games like AoC and CO made mistakes.  Putting their eggs/development resources in one basket/mode of gameplay.

In other words, I have a great deal of faith that what Bioware comes up with will be entertaining and fun.  My question though, is, "for how long"?  Will they make something that's a blast for 3 months, then you get bored and leave?  Or will there be tons of breadth, depth, and/or replayability?  DA:O gives me alot of hope in this regard.  We'll hafta just wait and see.

My LT's didn't seem to get much longer as time progressed, but then it's not like load times were horrendous; just significantly longer than most games I've recently played.

Yeah, it was a strange bug.  If I recall correctly, the baddie was no longer visible, and after the regurgitated pre-fight dialogue, you win, instantly.

Good to know!  They'll probably have it fixed soon enough.

    To Mr. OP:

Dude, to start off the teams are different. Those working on DA:O are not working on SWTOR. And that my friend is the big difference. Therefore both games will be completly different products.

If you are a Bioware fan then you should buy the game, if not... well I'm sure you find a game to your liking.

I mean, a MMO is about 100 times more complex then a single player and they can;t even get that right.  Not to mention the audiences are a LOT less forgiving in a single player...
From what I have seen here theres no way I would be pre ordering SWtOR.... and thats coming from a long time buyer of Bioware games. Definitly one to wait and watch what happens I think.

Lets not even start to talk about Bioware/ EA's love of 'additional' content and whatever via RMT...

    Fail.

The only problem that's somewhat acceptable with DAO is the DLC content at launch. But judging by the length/contents/price of the DLC, I don't mind. For $7 it has far more content than Fallout 3's DLC which was $10.

I'm often very reluctant to call someone a troll or there post a failure but you have achieved both of those titles.  I can only guess something about TOR is pushing you towards seeking knowledge to bolster some kind of point/agenda.  First you do not mention one single problem you had with the game in your original post nor the next lame one you made in stating that a technical support forum says so.  I don't make it a habit to visit tech support forums myself because I rarely have an ingame problem with the games I play but I certainly doubt a game that is popular is not going to have some posts on it.

Honestly and really I think you should be asking yourself if anyone sees the big issues you seem to see as opposed to asking if we are questioning bioware over the fact that they don't have an empty tech support page.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

I've been playing DA since last week and not come across a single issue with the game, nor have any of my guild mates who bought the game.

I'm also not concerned with trawling through a support forum when I have no problems with the game.

wow that is scary everyone agreeing but the OP has to be a record for on here. but yeah it ran great for me , i did have 1 crash for some reason when i went through a door, it just all locked up but that was 1 time out of idk how many hours of play, and i started over at one point because i didn't like my build/character

  • Frostbite05Frostbite05 Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,880

DGO had an excellent launch so i have no idea what the op is getting at. If anything it shows bioware can't make anything below amazing rpgs. Sorry but DGO is gonna snag many awards this year. GOTY will go to MW2 but theres really no competing with that game.

Meh I disagree, I loved dragon age

though I've heard some people have memory leak issues, I was pretty sure this would lead to hate for tor, even tho in all likelyhood the teams are different.

  • Methos12Methos12 Member UncommonPosts: 1,244

I'm still trying to determine if this is a joke thread. Bioware can't get SP games right? Bioware?

    Good God, crazy people nowadays...

Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.

I agree kotor2 was good, but I can't agree that it was the better of the two released seeing as only half the game actually shipped.

^^^ I am even more excited about SWTOR now after playing and immersing myself in DA:O. Problems? If you are expecting WoW gear to run SWTOR ... :- WoW was made in 2004 which was ~ 6 years ago, I believe those who want to run newer games on a Pentium 4 need to realize that their machines have ran its course and it is time for at least a minor update to a more modern system.

  • ElendilasXElendilasX Member Posts: 243

DA:O was very good. Only "problem" I had was difficulty. Normal was like playing Nightmare or something. But when I tried patch I saw that playing on unpatched normal was challenging and more fun.

Load times after six hours or so play became horrible, but computer restart would solve that. One of the best games I played.
