Hmm played it a bit again today but was pretty lost in general, to me the game feels like Wurm as in your left in a world and then your kinda looking for resources, building, learning new skills and stuff. Im probably gonna leave the game as its not really my cup of tea, but i do give these games credit for coming out and doing something different.
Right now im downloading the SWG trial to see if there's anything worth seeing, and be going through some game lists to see if anything is left. Which reminds me does anyone know of some good gaming lists? ive pretty much played the gamelist here, tentonhammer's, mmohub's and first 30 pages of MMOsite's. And keep the suggestions coming!
I noticed you haven't tried Istaria. I'll guess you won't care for it that much but its unique compared to some of the games you've listed. Plus the free forever demo account you can make means you can't go wrong trying it. Make a 14 day trial account and try out the dragons and any other char just to get a feel.
Actually i did try istaria, but the game was dead when i played and from what i understood it was a community game so yeh that kinda sucked. As for darkspace i remember reading up on it but never actually got to play it so ill give it a whirl.
Just throwing this out there. A car-based game in a post-apocalyptic setting - Darkwind: War On Wheels. Takes a lot of getting used to (turn-based racing combat) but it can be great fun. I haven't played in a while but I'm gonna try it out again for something to do in free time.
Also, Rise: The Vieneo Province is a unique game. Given that it's twice as frustrating as EvE or more, I hear it can be rewarding. Unfortunately, it never was very popular and the most people I ever had seen on during my trial was 4. Probably not worth the money unless you can get hardcore into it.
Another game I forgot about is Underlight. It's currently fan run and a complete recreation of the original shut-down game, but it's really unique. It's really community based and there's a lot that goes on. Not to mention, no NPCs other than the occasional nightmare (monster). It's about a lot more than just fighting though and takes some getting into.
Ooh will definitely check those out! Great luck today, i found 5 other well maybe not truly unique but niche games so i guess i should be good for awhile but more games are always welcomed!

DarkSpace?
Of course, you would have to try it to see why it is so unique. And I would never listen to myself, personally, considering the whole bias issue...
