This must be the first or second time I have ever posted in my entire account age.
But I just felt so compelled to atleast , get accross some important facts about Bethesda and their version of the Fallout IP.
If you like the game or not, even if you think they "butchered" the IP, they brought millions of more fans towards the Fallout IP, meaning, nearly 70% of gamers will be looking at the next Fallout game to be released. This release will probably be one of the IPs most important releases, determining, which ever game developers continued future in working with the IP
Suffice to say, if the next game doesn't live up to the status of Fallout 3, then it will just be a game, purchased and played by a many classic fallout fans. I simply can't see the game sitting in the middle.

I can't believe Obsidian entertainment are making a Fallout game, I think game developers hand it to them when the cba dealing with it whilst they make a better one.

I'm going to put this in the same box as Stargate Worlds I'm afraid. It's just one of those games you really really want but not even god himself will be able to bring this to the table.
Don't even PUT it in that box! They have the funding and have the development team thanks to Masthead Studio being a joint partner in this game.
Guys graphics that worked in FO3 WILL NOT WORK IN AN MMORPG! They are just too advance and will instantly crash any computer out there when their is a huge pvp battle. So, they have to go for a less low key graphics.
STFU up FO3, nothing special about it at all and any idiot who is foolish enough to say it was not close to elder scrolls really need to re-evaluate. It was very close to elder scrolls. I would not have been suprised if they based their mechanics off of elder scrolls. It neither killed nor enhanced the FO franchise. The only reason it is still talked about to this day is because of this game right here. This FOOL is the reason it is still being brought up.

The Earthrise engine is anything but themepark. It is closer to a sandbox engine however I am sure they can change it into that of a themepark.
I can not believe I just read an entire thread that was full of people bashing what is essentially the top selling PC game of all time. Its especially funny that most of them hate WoW as well. I'm seeing a trend here. I think this hate has NOTHING to do with the game at all.

I didn't hate the Sims, but I hated the irony that surfaced during the 2 day addiction I had. I think it broke once I realized I'd been holding my bio breaks for hours to make sure my sims got their bathroom breaks in a timely fashion. And while I was directing my sims to clean the kitchen floor while my actual kitchen floor was a mess and dishes were piling up...
I guess you could say I hated it for showing me how screwy my priorities could be...
Sims 2 should have been a game where you controlled a guy who was playing the Sims on his computer...

It seems you haven't read the thread calmly and carefully. First, it is not about Fallout 3 but about a rumored Fallout MMO. And a majority of the posters seem to actually like Fallout 3, for that matter - the ones who don't (like me) are in the minority.
The MMO itself is being made by Interplay. They're the guys who created the Fallout IP in the first place. Yes, much of the original brainpower are over at Obsidian and some other places now, but a couple of the key players seem to have returned to Interplay to lead the MMO project. That's a good thing, which gives some Fallout fans at least a little hope. And some of us are happy about it, with me personally hoping they get to do it rather than Bethesda. What's strange about that? It's actually giving a positive reaction to this bit of news. I'm happy to see these screenshots.
You make some broad generalizations as well, which just ring hallow. Let me use myself as an example: I think WOW is quite a good game and have played it on and off for a long time. (I thought it had gone off the rails prior to BC, but then returned during WOTLK and enjoyed it for a few months.) I also like the Sims. Hey, I even like Free Realms and am not afraid to admit that. But I also like EVE Online and Fallen Earth. I like a lot of games, popular or otherwise, it's just that Bethesda's games are not among them. The really curious thing is: why are you so upset over it?
For all we know, we may never see a Fallout MMO as things stand... So I'm hoping Interplay does get to finish and release this.

Just because you don't personally see it, doesn't mean the anti-popularity opinion is completely baseless. You might be right, that the same people bashing F3 tend to bash WoW, but maybe that's because some of us remember when RPGs were a niche that appealed more to gamers who wanted depth and complexity, which is often in direct conflict with what makes for mass appeal.
Fallout III may not have compared to Fallout I or II, but then again,I also felt that Oblivion didn't compare to Morrowind or Daggerfall. So I fear the genre's lost, no matter who makes these games.

When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

I don't think hating anything popular makes my tastes more leet. Its just that over the last 27 years Ive noticed that anything popular is most likely something I won't like. Granted there are a few exceptions.. I don't care if others like it ,that is their own choice and Im glad that other like the popular stuff because if we all liked the same things, life would be boring as hell.

But to be on topic, I think it looks pretty good for some alpha screens. Sadly I didn't get into PC gaming till 2003 when I had my own computer and was able to play games. I missed out on FO1 and 2 I always heard about them from my friend Craig and how awesome it was and now Im no much of a graphics whore and controls whore to go back to it. Well that was last time I tried maybe I'll try them again sometime when Im taking a break from Fallen Earth.

I hope it gets done. FE doesn't quite do it for me, and I love the Fallout universe.
Loved Fallout 3 and will likely preorder Fallout 4, though not a survival edition(the pipboy clock SUCKED... no more special editions for me).
Fallout 1 and 2 were great... tactics was decent... BoS siphoned big time.
