International playbase simply ignored

On the 12th of November 09 the pre order of EQII Sentinel's Fate or EQII Sentinel's Fate Collectors Edition did start.

Advertisment pop-up windows show up if you start the launcher ... but hey, what's that???

There is no way for any outter US customer to get this in his/her country.

SOE advertises international - means you get advertising in japanese, french, german .... but they do not distribute it in the countries where their international playerbase lives.

So only US citizens - and this excludes the Canadians as well - are able to get any retail box and goodies in their own country.

Of course there was a lot of complaints in the official forums.

Hehe, well she openly admits that SOE expects their international customers to buy a retail box via internet in the US and pay up to 50$ extra for shipping and taxes. There is no sign of insight about SOEs mistake to ignore that the world is more than the US.

Interesting fact as well is that just gamestop and amazon.com offer this expansion. Gamestop delivers international (means they send out the wares from the US and you pay tons of extra money to get it), amazon.com don't.

Fact is also that tons of international players announced in the forums that they will quit playing EQ2.

EQ2 is a very nice game but nobody likes to be treated like SOE treats their international loyal playerbase. They considered themself "international" but exclude the whole world outside the US.

Some clever ( of course US customers) answered the complaints from international gamers in the official forums like this:"you don't need to buy any retail, you can take the digital download."

Well, the digital download will be available 7 days after the retail owners started playing already. There is no collectors download (joke) and no ingame goody as well. ... and the price for the download version is exactly the same as the retail price.

Somebody said it very right: Soe has its premium customers (US) and the rest.

Its another fine mess by SOE,the laurel and hardy of the MMO industry

 

With the NGE they pissed off the playerbase,with this move SOE has pissed off the world except america..its nice to know thier priorities,it takes some doing to be so bad at thier jobs,yet SOE never fail to deliver so sod them.
