I got dragon age origins CE and as I deciding on if I should go with a CE or regular edition I looked on the EA site and seen what items I would get with a CE and this was one of them.
Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes: A special book that adds
+3 to all attributes when read
I get the CE and as anyone who got the CE found out it only gave you 3 points total.
I called EA about it and talked to them about their store add telling what came in the CE( the above is a direct quote) and the person tells me I read the sentence wrong.
I post on the DAO forms and got basickly I am in the wrong for not understanding english.
Now I have many years of gamming experience, going back to old shcool PNP D&D to MMO's starting with EQ and ending with Aion
I have also spent many years in shcool to get the various degrees I hold, I will give you I have been out of school for more then 12 years and the jobs I have held have had little to do with the fields I studied for or and have had little to any need for writen or typed comunication at all.
I can think that my base understanding of the gamming field and its language as a whole has gone so far down hill that I would misinterpit the above statement.
What do you think vote on how you would interpit the above statement.

You actually called to complain about this? I think you have too much free time.
A bonus is a bonus; even three additional points will help you nicely in DA.
Yes I did call and complain more like pointing out a mistake they made with their wording of the item.
EA actualy thanked me for pointing it out to them and sent me a nice bit of EA cash to spend in their store.
I always liked dealing with EA CS WAR failed thanks solely to MYTHIC EA CS would always try to help but had their hands tied and could do nothing as mythic handled all of WAR no wounder EA shit canned almost all of them..
I probably would have assumed it was +3 to all attributes like it says. But +3 attribute points would have been better wording.
This is not about me,but i need to make it clear that probably less than 1% have more experience than me in Gaming and there is no question that means +3 to all attributes. It does NOT mean 3 points to distribute,i can't even remeber it worded in that fashion ever, albeit i'm sure it has been..... maybe once lol.
There is no question they PURPOSELY worded it that way to misrepresent the prize and to make it easier to bribr people to buy that version.
It "SHOULD" have been worded, you get an item that gives you 3 points to distribute. When you see the word BOOK and the +3 attached to it,it is automatic what it means,if EA tries to dispute that at all, they are a lying bunch of crooks.Tell them i said so lol.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I agree. I distinctl says that it will grant you +3 to all the attributes. If they wanted to say 3 points to disperse any way you liked they should have said:
+3 points to add to any attributes.
or
+3 points that can be added to any attribute

I remember reading that and thinking +3 to all stats was a pretty amazing bonus. Perhaps even "overpowered". But if I were to pay the extra money for CE and find out you only get 3 pts. total, I would feel absolutely jipped. It's false advertising plain and simple. Its too bad not enough people care about this sort of thing to stop it from happening again and again. I suppose eventually it will get bad enough to start a lawsuit. Until then...
