Last time i played the EU servers were dead and couldn't find a group and I think they shut the EU PVP server down. The only server that was populated with people you could see was AB the US server but I still couldn't get groups at level 30 so I quit.

Hmm I just returned to Najena and there are lots people around me. I just lvl up from 30-70 in the past few months and never had a problem finding a group. Maybe you didn't find the right guild ?
Yeh I joined this guild with lots of people but noone was around my level so they were like gain 5 more levels and then come with us. However I was so bored doing solo quests that by the time I gained 5 levels they gained 10. Was like trying to find ANYONE to group with and you can get like one or two people but you'll not have a healer or not have a tank and wont be able to do it.
Was so annoying cause in beta you were always in groups 24/7 doing content and the PUGS were actually full of good people who played properly. the game was just such full of life and it was actually fun! Now it's like good luck finding a frigging group and I hope you like having fun playing alone in an ONLINE GAME! Even if you were in a guild with people who're your level then there wouldn't be enough of them so you'd have to wait to play the game.
All they need to do is have one server and clone the zones when they get full up like Champions online.
I guess I was lucky to join my guild. Most of the time I have no problem finding people that are willing to mentor me down to my level. With the new feature of self-mentoring. It makes high levels players more than willing to group with my lowbies. Most of my guild members are really helpful as well. I guess finding the right people to group with is the first step.
I play on both eu (splitpaw) and us (nagafen) servers.
Splitpaw is medium pop at its peak times, low level zones are mostly empty apart from alts and twinks blazing through content. At level cap it's quite easy to group or raid, in guild groups or even pick ups. It also depends on what class you roll too (don't roll a brawler lol).
Nagafen is not as low latency as Splitpaw for me, but it's not noticeable, i never seem to lag, unless it's server side and that affects everyone. Nagafen is Heavy populated and it has quite a bit of euros there as well, low levels are busting with groups pvp'ing or ganking, depends on how you see it lol.
Leveling in eq2 has been dumped down to the point of burning through levels like candy bars, so it's a shame you cant experience all the lowbie group zones in lighter pop servers, but the trip to the cap is not that long.

The population at lower levels is low. Without joining a guild and the help of mentoring guildies it is hard to enjoy low level dungeons in groups.
