I demand a steampunk mmo!

Mechanism

What is steampunk? It's a pseudo-fantasy setting which replaces magic with fantastical inventions and contraptions in an otherwise old fashioned setting.

Lots of mmos have steampunk elements in them but traditional fantasy gets the spotlight.

So what would a steampunk mmo be like? There's plenty of material out there to draw from, my personal favorite is an online comic called Girl Genius.

Let me lay out how I envision this game. You begin as a novice mad scientist and can over time customize you're character in eccentric fashions or augment him/her with mechanical or mutated boby parts. It would need a very robust crafting system that allows you to build and use your creations.

Creations ranging from a trusty high powered blunderbuss to genetically modified minions.

There's just so much untapped potential here and surely some fearless indy developer out there has to balls to try it!

neosteam is steam punk. the only other would be WoW and it still leans toward tradition fantasy than steam punk
