That was his first and biggest mistake. You can't do these sort of things without bad things happening to you, it's karma 'n shit.

And what game should he be playing then smartass? WoW? Don't make me fucking laugh.

Yes, WoW is where it's at. I would have babies with WoW if I could.

doubtful, most of the players there have yet to reach puberty.

I'll vote C every time cause you know as well as I do that the immoral people who play don't care if their actions ruin the game for the company or any of the other players.

Yea option C is great...unless YOUR the one banned for no reason.

(I found out my brother got his account back yesterday)...apparently he opened trade with a gold spammer who said he was qutting and giving away all his stuff.

There is no brother. You have been botting or bought gold and you got hit with the banstick and you're now crying about.

    ...

I doubt I will ever play AION ...even though my brother is trying to get me to play it....but as of today I cancelled my DF sub and waiting for the KOTOR mmo.

Also I don't want to play another Asian grinder after Lineage II. LOL.

i feel very disappointed after  waiting for 1week, no reply at all, i saved up my hard earn money to play aion, yet i got banned for no reason. i didnt cheat. i am lvl35+ after 2months of playing. i even thought of buying the digital magazine. Right now, i think i rather play other free MMO.  Feeling helpless and hopless.

dont worry your not alone ... i got banned 2 days ago for whatever reason i dont know, i resubbed the game, got to play for 5 god damn days, then i got banned. To make things worse, then my hole master account got banned with like 6-7 games on, i didnt even recive an email when the hole thing got taken away from me.

now, my account go back to start of 2005 with plenty of games on (as i said 6-7) i mailed support and said blah blah wtf?

they returned to me and said that i had to give a TON of information including every CD key and uniq key for all the accounts on my master account?! yeah dont worry not a problem to get email's and uniq ID's from 5 years old emails. np.... >_> as they wanted to indendify that i was the owner. wtf?

Now, i havnt recived any of my games yet. i havnt got a reason yet either why i got banned ... im really frustrated!

im calling them in 15 min when there phone support line opens! this is just out of hand!

  • Vion1xVion1x Member Posts: 188

Well guess what, I just tried to play aion (I got aion, guild wars and COH) and my master account was just blocked.  Imagine that.  I do not, and have never, bot or buy gold (for 2 reasons: 1 I do not know how it works from a technical point of view and 2 I think those practices are disgusting).  Furthermore,  I do not go on weird websites and no one other than me plays on my computer and knows my account info.

So I just opened a ticket about 5 minutes ago, and hopefully they can fix this issue, because I am really not too happy at this point.

EDIT: well it says master account blocked.  Not sure if there is a diff for them between blocked and banned, but it's a pain anyway.

Sounds all well and good until NCSoft messes up and bans someone for no reason.

A good friend of mine got banned in one of the earlier waves of the ban hammer.  NCSoft's response is that he was botting...which was a joke (absolutely no way my friend would even know how to install bot software, and, knowing him personnaly, he wouldn't even if he was capable); NCSoft just plain screwed up.  NCSoft (who just *couldn't* have been in error) decided to give my friend a "break" by restoring his account, but without any of his equipment (which in the game Aion is essentially death in the 40s).

During this same time, we have been repeatedly reporting a bot for over a month, and that bot was still working just fine (absolutely no questions that it was a bot) after that round of ban hammer.

So, the PR is nice that NCSoft spends a lot of time investigating, and I have no doubt that there are instances in which they do investigate closely, but they clearly don't spend much time investigating the majority of those they ban.  Do the math - 16,000 accounts banned...if NCSoft spent serious time investigating each account (say 1 hour each), it would take 100 people a full month to complete the investigations.  Having waited for support in the game, I'm absolutely certain that NCSoft does not maintain that many resources in total for game support, much less to take the time investigating all the bans.

Option C is indeed the tactic that NCSoft is using.  But the real result of Option C is that you lose your legitimate players who get ticked, and the immoral people just create new accounts since their botting software will level them in no time again.

The truly sad part is that NCSoft is to blame for several aspects of this problem.  The mining nodes and majority of mobs appear in precisely the same spot every time which makes botting insanely easy.  Of course, NCSoft will not accept that blame...so it must be the customer's fault.  I have no sympathy for NCSoft with their very poor views, and *by far* worst customer service of any software product I have ever used.

Yeah, I wish they would sell security code authenticators,  I would have bought one right off the bat.

I got banned from AION a few weeks ago.

Thing is, I don't have the game, never played the game and never had an account to begin with.

Funny e-mail scams that they are, I'm starting to get concerned about these undesirables.

I was banned from Aion for no reason at all. They said I had too much kinah....I busted my ass for that kinah.

It's pretty funny tbh, they swing that banhammer around so recklessly and they seem to be proud about it, and even make up a little catchy christmas tune to go with it and it's not even christmas time.

I think its funny that people expect Ncsoft to e-mail you when they ban you. Why would they if they think your a bot/goldseller? Its easy to point out Ncsoft mistakes when your on the other side. RMT/hackers/goldbuyers should be getting more of the blame then the game or the company afer all if no one did these things we would be fine. The fact is Ncsoft is fightin a war and in war there are innocent people getting hurt. I myself have had my account hacked and banned. I e-mailed them and within a week (due to my work schedule) I was back on my feet with some extra goodies and free game time for my troubles. What most people fail to realize is these RMT cause bbig trouble for Korean games due to the fact that in Korea hacking/botting are pretty non-existent. So the travel to the US servers to do the damage. Yes Ncsoft customer support could be better but so could all customer supports for all other games.  Lets put our heads together and rid ourselves of the real problem...RMT/Goldsellers.

Like most Korean games this games economy is so poorly run that it encourages people to buy in game currency from gold sellers.  This is just one reason (among quite a few) that I do not play Asian games anymore.

well uhm...I'm just saying, I agree with what Aion did. I don't believe gold spamming is minor...When I played I couldn't stand that crap. Botting either. So, yeah, I say ban their asses. lol If your brother really wasn't doing anything, then he can message support like the notification said. Overall, I'm glad they are doing what they are doing...because the whole gold selling/buying shit is ridiculous.

    Argh

I was going to resub to Aion, and to my suprise my master account has been blocked. Let me say first of all I haven't played this year at all. I can say for sure that I haven't done any wrong things in any of the games I have there. Aion I only played for a week, and wanted to come back now.

The sad thing are that I can't play any of my Ncsoft games now, I have all the Guild wars and CoH expansions and I can't play any games. Im so angry at the person that must have hacked my account and destroyed the fun for me. I don't know how people can do such a thing, when the only thing I want from a game is to have some fun. I hope I get my account back, I dont have money to buy the games again.

Same thing happened to me. I went to try and reactivate my Aion account after being gone for about three months and to my surprise it was banned. I had to call customer support to get my master account password reset and lucky for me who ever hacked it didnt touch my CoH account. As far as Aion, once I saw my account was banned I was done with it and didn't even try to get it unbanned.

Yeah I'm really worried that they have deleted my CoH characters or my Guild wars ones. And the support is taking forever to answer me. I'm so mad at people that do this, and ppl that buy Gold should know that they are destroying the game for someone else.

The games economy is not the problem. People are lazy becasue you can buy currency for just about any game out there. The main problem is that its out of Korea and since its developed there the hackers and botters already had time to learn how to break into the game. When it comes over here they are all over it. Plus as I stated before in Korea they don't play around with cybercrimminals.
