Hmmm just noticed something. If you go to the forums at the WoW website the forums are rampant with morons and idiots.. I get the feeling the game is going to be a bunch of 12-14 year olds .. looks pretty dissapointing

Well you just have to ignore them. I mean this game will be huge. I'm sure it will be a million seller. So you will of course have this kind of persons in the game. But for every one of those person you have 100 more that are just playing the game and enjoying it.
Forums are growing in popularity but you must remember it's still a minority of players that read/post on the forums. In my office, at least 14 poeple will play the game and only I read forums. So it gives you an idea.
So although the community might appear young by the way it's acting, it may not, in fact, be that way. This game inspire passion in a lot of us. We care about it and we love it. If nobody liked it, nobody would care to voice their opinion about it. But when we are so passionate about something, those with a temper will show it.

Unless there is some sort of psycholgy test sorting and keeping the "morons" from playing, we non-moronic gamers will just have to cope.
WoW is actually aimed at 12-14 yo's. Hence the cartons. Heh I'll still like it and Im an old git. LOL
Where did you hear or read that Wow was aimed at 12- 14 YO's?? I don't think that is the case at all....
How many 12 YO's have credit cards :P

I would say WOW was aimed for that age group. After playing EQ2 beta WOW is not impressive. WOW is a quest race thats it....if ya dont quest your exp sucks. In EQ2 questing is a huge bonus but exp solo is good and grouped perfect without quests.
WOW is not complex at all. its more of a game to last ya for afew months at best if ya can handle the community. Well good luck wow.
Maturity levels vary greatly in every forum and every online game... I once tried getting into the non-mainstream games and smaller free online games. They had some of the best forum communities I've seen, but inside the games were a whole other story. I though my experiences with EQ and FFXI brought my respect for humanity to the ground, but after some of the free online games which have little or no moderation that is never enforced, sent it to China.
My hope for WoW is that the obnoxiuos fanatic powergamers that know the best way to play and have to make sure everyone else knows will max-out and move on to another game sooner than later as it seems to have fast leveling. Also might help me actually get a character to a decent level within a year. And if there's little downtime, as it's made out to be, hopefully that will mean less time for them to finger their keyboard.

"WoW is filled with morons BLABLABLBAL, Blizzard makes games for children BLABLABBLA, they use cartoon graphics style and that doesn't suit my MATURE MINDSET, so I'm going to play EQ2 even if it sux, because at least the community isn't filled with MORONS, BLABLALBA."
Helllloooo!? WHO CARES! Let's say half the community is filled with morons (witch is NOT the fact, I ClosedBetaED wow, and it wasn't) so, half the time you meet someone he starts leetspeaking, trashtalking whatsover... here is the solution.
-You play PvE? Ignore him! He keeps follwing you? /ignore
-You play PvP? KILL HIM (isn't that a good motivation to play?)
And you could get yourself a Guild with MATURE people LIKE YOU if you want.. so you get to play with them often. I mean wtf... how can you waste your time whining and worrying about such a stupid thing. I'm starting to wonder what is more annoying? Annoying people, or people whining about annoying people? Do what you want, HAVE FUN, stop annoying us with that, thanks.
Anyway there is nothing wrong with cartoony graphics and just as there are mature 13-y-o's there are immature 20+ y.o.'s
